WBA featherweight champion Chris John has pulled out of Saturday’s world title defense against Rocky Juarez at Staples Center in Los Angeles. According to ESPN, John is suffering from an unspecified blood problem that caused him to faint while sparring on Saturday. A new opponent for Juarez is being sought.

Sorry if this has been posted.

An opponent to Juarez was offered but he refused said opponent citing stylistic differences.

I understand why Juarez rejected Santiago but I don't think he should have. HBO dates don't grow on trees and Juarez has had his share and keeps coming up short. I don't know how many more shots he'll get. I read HBO offered him more money as well and he still said no. Juarez wasn't prepared to face a lefty but Santiago hasn't fought in over a year so its not like Juarez wouldn't have had an advantage either. Would have been a good fight.

I agree. '09 has been a horrible year for boxing so far in my opinion. Too many fights getting canceled and postponed.
