So,it's ok to lie in order to represent yourself in a better light?I've no respect for boxing because I resent the fact that Calzaghe knowingly and willfully lied in order to make himself look better?I should **** off over it?No,if you don't admit the truth that Calzaghe lied to make himself look better, then you should **** off and admit that you're a ****ing liar,too.Liar.

huh? this coming from a man (looking like a **** in his avatar, you're not impressing anybody) who labeled Larry Holmes as being a "shittier version" of Wlad? didn't you also dismiss Ali as being a "loud-mouthed, muscular black man? get the **** outta here. hypocrite.

as for Calzaghe? he's a good fighter. but he'll never be one of my favorites for the sole reason that he employs one of the ugliest styles i've seen.

RJJ - 40 yrs old, representing a big money fight.
JC - 37 years old, not much age difference.

You're a ****ing clown if you don't see why that fight was made. He had nothing left to prove, he beat the **** out of his division for a 10 year period, beat four to five sets of youthful fighters deemed to be "the next generation" and then beat a guy who is STILL P4P #3 in the world in Hopkins.

The RJJ fight was a money fight, for both of them and RJJ, if he was so entirely shot, how in the **** did he beat Hanshaw, Ajamu and Tito? You're saying they're all shot too?

Pathetic is a guy who constantly overlooks basic logical ****. I.E, You.

Who gives a **** what Calzaghe wrote in his biography vs the eventual fight between Jones JR and Calzaghe. That doesn't change the work that Calzaghe did prior to that fight, Jones Jr was his "I'm ending my career and cashing out fight" - It IS ok to lie, the ****ing world runs on lies, you ignorant little ****.

Don King doesn't lie? Floyd Mayweather Jr doesn't lie? Hopkins doesn't lie? You're a gimp. Hold all fighters to the same standard or don't hold any to any standard.

Larry Holmes is a much shittier version of Wlad, Shorter, less power in his right hand and in a worser generation of boxing.

We've already analysed why Ali wouldn't win against Wlad, Lewis or Vitali - it's not my fault that you're too caught in xenophobic hype to believe differently.

Joe calzaghe the man that RAN from pavlik, johnson, dawson......for either injury reasons or some other bull**** excuses......frank warren deserves a academy award for his genius management of calzaghe.....guy like this should have atleast 2 L's hung on his resume.....most great UK champs as soon as they win a world title, want to hop to the states to taste his grit......even froch has more balls then joe......hatton even has more balls then joe, and will be look at more favorably then joe for this exact reason.......we will always have question marks about Joe, becasue of his shady resume.....he is hoping history will just look at the 46-0 and say wow......it just doesnt look all that fancy once you look at how his whole carear was handled, and his resume is weaker then some guys who have 5 loses.....

Ran from Pavlik? He wanted Pavlik, Pavlik signed to fight Hopkins. Pavlik lost against Hopkins, it made Pavlik pointless for Calzaghe to fight.

Ran from Dawson? Dawson was always themed as a potential fight for Calzaghe but everyone knew he wouldn't bring the requisite money to the table nor legacy, Calzaghe already beat a Dawsonesque fighter in Lacy.

Ran from Johnson? Oh, yes, he faked a divorce and broken hand to get away from a guy with 10 losses on his record.

    Get a ****ing clue.

still doesnt change the fact Johnson's resume is more impressive then calzaghe's....

the 46-"O" gets overplayed.....joe is in the same boat as a mayweather except floyd is leagues ahead of joe even in his resume....

Johnson's resume is impressive solely because of the names he's fought, not the achievements he's had.

When did he ever dominate a division to the point of holding all titles in it without ever being defeated? Oh, right, that's right - never, nor did any other fighter in recent history.

The 0 doesn't get overplayed, going 46 fights, 25 of them being title fights and never losing your 0? Despite being betting underdog against Eubank, Reid and Lacy and pretty much even money with Hopkins, Kessler, Woodhall and Starkey?

If it's so easy, why the **** has no other boxer in the modern era managed to do it? Hatton never unified all the belts, Hatton never cleared the Reids, Woodhalls, Sheikas, Kesslers, Lacys, Bika's from the ranks.

Like I continue to say, Get a ****ing clue you xenophobic **** - yeah, he's not one of us but who cares if he's not American, the guy did what we claim we want everyone else to do - clean out a division and ensure no one really remains that is a legitimate challenge.

The only fighter he ever missed? Sven Ottke. Why? Sven wouldn't have a ****ing bar of Calzaghe, Calzaghe offered him the chance to fight in Germany where Calzaghe would take $1 from gate takings and whatever money he got from the UK fight publisher, Ottke said no.

Dawson? Don't make me laugh - the guy struggled to win against an aged Johnson who Clinton freaking Woods was able to beat.

Your missing the point once you look deeper at calzaghe's wins....there not impressive.....he beat OLD hopkins, prime hopkins has a ko against joe......prime jones gets insulted to have calzaghe in the same ring with him....keep in mind this is the same joe that got dumped on his ass in the fisrt round against these relics.......the eubank fight was always a joke to me when its mentioned by joe fans.......becasue eubanks was semi-shot at that point had been in many wars.....and was not the same fighter......prime eubank bruatally destroys calzaghe.......and lacy has never really done much except lose to calzaghe......

does joe deserve credit for unifying titles and being lineal? of course.....

but most of his title defenses where against nobodies in the UK.....

its not joes fault he cant fight anymore, I understand that......but we will never know how good he really was becasue of the way he was managed and how there are major question marks over his biggest wins.....

bottom line good fighter.....but nowhere near top 5 or even top 10 of the decade.....

"OLD Hopkins" when Hopkins was able to go and dominate the MW champion of the world in his very next fight, had beaten the LHW champion of the world in a fight previous and one of the most awkward fighters in the world in Winky Wright?

The same Hopkins who refused to fight in 2001 after conditions had been agreed? That Hopkins?

The same SHOT Eubanks who should have taken a victory against Carl Thompson following the Calzaghe fight?

    Get a ****ing clue.

As for Top 5 or Top 10 of the decade? I don't have him in my Top 5, he may scrape the 10.

what a lousy acceptance speech, hes basically admitting his career isnt great and blaming it as to why.

What I''m getting at is that people seem to resent calzaghe for protecting himself for so much that they cannot even acknowledge the feats that he did achieve, which should speak for themselves. Everybody wanted him to be exposed when he fought Lacy, but he wasn't. Then he went on to beat Kessler (a brilliant win), and Hopkins. Looking back at his career as a whole you have to admit he was a great fighter. Unfortunately, we will know how great he could have been because he didn't have that many challenges at the top level. Those unknowns will be fodder for the nuthuggers and haters to for decades. Objectively you have to say he was a great fighter. He deserves criticism for his career choices, ut he deserves credit for his wins as well.
