hmm says... not looking at his opponent, I am pretty impressed on how well Monk can move for a HW, granted he can work on his punching and conserving his energy. Although he has no background and isn't a polished boxer, I believe he has great potential. This content is protected
he looks ****, throws arm punches, drops his hands after throwing every single punch, off balance nearly all of the time i cold go on and on
Were you expecting anything else? If he proves himself to carry power at world level in a few years time, he has a good a chance as anyone.
Doesn't look like much right now. But lets face it, the heavyweight division is pathetic and wide open. If he's anything like his Dad he could eventually go right through all the present day pretenders. George Sr's rise was meteoric. 18 months after his first amatuer fight , he won an olympic gold medal. If the new George can really punch, take a shot, and has some balls, he'll decimate all the pudgy Russians in a couple of years from now.
He really mirrors his father. Without any real amateur fights, he can at least become a top 20 heavyweight. Fighters who throw punches and know how to "tie" him up may present a problem for him.
Some potential. I don't know why he's not fighting in the amateurs for now. Also, I really felt bad for his opponent. I guess its really hard to make money these days.
Monk looked OK for what its worth... but I honestly think I could have have knocked that stiff out in one round too... all 165 lbs of me. What a bum!!! LOL
That's what I though the second he walked into the blobby guy throwing punches. Did this guy have an amateur career? I'm guessing no and if so, probably a short one? He is sorely lacking fundamentals.
