Amir khan look like hes filling out well at this weight. Physically you can tell though hes not in his prime yet. I think he does look a bit slower though, a bit more planted.

 

whoever filmed this is a jack ass. I cant even see his hands cuz of the sunlight/white gloves. Why even post this?

 

His body may look thicker, but his jaw still looks glass thin.

To see who posts first. As usual its the chin 'experts'. The video is crap but there aint much coming out of the wildcard by way of footage. BTW its not my vid.

 

It always amuses me to see people strutting around in Khan threads, smugly raving about his chin as if indulging in gospel. Guys, we know that he has a bad chin -- a few of us saw what Watson did to him in the amateurs, a couple more of us witnessed the Limond and Gomez knockdowns, and nearly all of us know about the infamous one round bout with Prescott. We know. What you're doing is akin to running around on the street and screaming about how the random pedestrians around you are currently breathing. You don't come across as knowledgeable, and you certainly don't impress anyone. If you wish to keep going on about it, however, go ahead -- you're only embarrassing yourself.

On the topic of Khan, I've always had mixed feelings. I like slick fighters, so I've never been impressed with his frankly bad defence, but I do admire his speed. I actually enjoyed watching him more in the amateurs than the pro game -- he fought with constant movement, and made far better use of his reach and speed. The amateur game as a whole suits him more than the pro arena, really. I like that Roach is working on Khan's footwork and guard; he knows how to bring out the best in his fighters. Good trainer.

 

I think both amir and roach have the right mindset for him now. Amir doesnt have the toughness to go to war in a morales or barerra fashion. He needs to work twice as hard as other fighters on his defence and offence to make sure her rarely gets hit.

 

To me, it's the same as letting people in your community know that there's a ****** living amongst you. Every time the ******'s name comes up, someone should be saying "hey, that guy's a ******".

In this boxing community, when a fraud glass jawed hype job wannabe's name comes up like Khan's, someone should be saying "hey, that guy's got a glass jaw". Pretty straightforward stuff, really.

That makes absolutely no sense -- the analogy is hilariously bad. You're comparing a ****** in a community to a fighter with a glass jaw? Khan's fights are televised, and we all saw how Prescott destroyed him. Do we get a live feed of a ****** going about his deeds? Khan's chin has become a self-evident truth due to solid, widespread proof. We have absolutely no need for people to run around screaming about it as if it's a divine revelation -- it's completely pointless. Not to mention the fact that, unlike a ******, he represents no threat to those around him as a result of his chin.

I also find it a little sad how much importance is placed on a chin rather than heart/grit. Personally I admire any boxer who shows courage, regardless of what their chin is like. A chin is obviously essential to performing well in the ring, but obsessing over that single dimension is a bit...well, silly, to my eyes.

Exactly. He'll never be a give 'n take fighter, but I honestly don't think he needs to be. His strengths are his speed, reach and accuracy. His footwork could also be a plus point if Roach really ironed it out, because I saw a lot of potential in that area during his amateur days. I read an article in which a lot of Wildcard members were impressed with his jab, too. These are all traits that favour boxing on the outside, and if it were up to me, I would have Khan constantly circle the ring with a high/tight guard and a constant jab. I would also have him use a lot more head movement.
