Frankly I wish Hatton had never started fighting.

And whatever you gimps say - he ducked Witter. Bottom line.

Really? How long have you had this opinion? Would you care to share with the rest of us...?

So you've gone from righting rickys power off by saying his last KO was against a shot castillo to then saying he has a punchers chance? Make your mind up mate, is he a puncher or not? The answer is no, he's not a massive puncher at elite level, but Khan and Witter arnt elite level, He'd knock Khan out and UD Witter. Junior Witter is a good fighter, nothing more, somewhere between european and world level. Khan is yet to be seen, he may go on to be elite, at the moment he's to raw to beat Hatton, Hattons offence hasnt declined even if his chin has, therefore he would blow Khan away, Hatton landed shots in that second round against Manny what would have put Khan away

This type of lazy argument really annoys me...the difference between Hatton and Witter has got absolutely **** all to do with fish to fry, whatever size...it is the difference between Warren and Hennessy. Ricky Hatton wouldn't have amounted to anything without Warrens pulling power, and Witter has been held back by Hennessys lack of it. Ricky Hatton rode the WBU trail to the top whilst Witter had to do things the traditional way as Hennessy has no pull.

I am a big Witter fan but I recognise that the only logical time for these fighters to have met (until after Witter beats Alexander for the WBC strap)was around 2000...after that both fighters just went their seperate ways.

In 2000 I think that the fight was too close to call, now I truly think that a Witter with hardly any miles on the clock would take it in some style.

I always thought around 2004 was the best time, both were bonafide world class 140lbers at that point.

They should have sorted it out before then and we wouldn't have had to suffer 8 years of this type of shite debate, dragging down one fighters rep to enhance anothers...its a bit childish to be honest :good

The thing is though, Ricky made his career by getting and winning his defining fight against Tszyu, Witters tried to make a career by constantly calling Ricky out. Junior showed his lack of ambition by calling Ricky out after he'd been knocked out by Manny, what sort of a fighter, with world title aspirations calls out a man whos been blown away in 2 rounds? Junior is just bitter and jelous, thats the head and tails of it

I agree re. the debate Icemax but I think purely from a spectacle point of view 2004 would have been the best time. TBH I don't think Hatton would have been ready for Witter in 2000....or was that the general idea behind you suggesting that date???;)

HATTON is all for HATTON, it's the CASH that drives him on, just ask his DAD & why do you think he still travels the country doing 3/4 shows a week year in year out for £10K+ a pop, forget this man ov the people act, this is a bizzness. It's what prize fighters do, they fight for PAY!!!!

For some £30+ mill ai'nt enough, who knows what he got shafted for in the bank/stock market crash as most top earning sportman got hit & maybe thats why his agent charges £50 every time Hatton is asked 2 sign a glove & NO FREEBEES.

Why on earth do you think Hatton is talking about the Millenium Stadium!!!

50,000 BUMS ON SEATS (No insult intended) = LOADS AH MONEY!!!

So you laud Hatton for trying and then getting the best 140 lb'er in a generation into the ring (Tszyu --Warrens work not Hatton BTW), but criticise Witter for trying to do the same...strange:-(

BIG TIME, Ray Hatton grew a 2nd DICK & wept for joy after Witter lost 2 Bradley, talk about dodging the Bullit.

Frank Warren is no mug, he made sure that Ricky would not be put in harms way under his tenure:verysad
