If Cotto is so great why is he so desperate to fight someone who is smaller than him? Why not do the right thing and rematch Mosely/Clottey or fight Paul Williams? Why is Cotto willing to give up so much to fight a guy whose last fight was at 140 and a year ago was fighting at 130? Is there something we don't know? Might it be that Cotto knows he isnt anything special and is just looking to cash out due to his last 5 performances 2 SD wins, 2 wins against nobodies and a tko loss against a fighter who was exposed as the crude fighter he was in January. Again why not pursue fights with real welters?

cotto is sitting in the same boat as hatton imo.....hatton has the tszyu win as his only "hall of fame" win......cotto has mosley as his "hall of fame" win.....and hatton torched malginaggi and got a stoppage and has more solid wins then a cotto does......

cotto is not even a hall of famer....YET

Desperate?? I thought Pac was the one who told Arum to make it happen. I thought Cotto was the one who said if he wants to fight he wont drop below 145.

Mosley sounds like the desperate one to me.

before that statement and the clottey fight, cotto called manny out and said he'd meet him at 144.

    -what happened there?
-why he change his mind and say 145?

you putting words i his mouth because the guy had never called a other fihter up. the promoter was the one pulling this fight. I nere see Cotto asisting in a Many fight, but i saw Pacman in the Cotto's fight so now who was more interested.

Cotto still had fought and beat better opossition than Hatton. That the ring magazine says is not a Hall of fame worthy.

Nope you thought wrong, Cotto called for a Pac fight and even agreed to fight at a catchweight of 144lbs (yet manny is the one getting heat for agreeing to 145 )

From the scene that talks about boxing dated May 19 2009

According to Michael Koncz, adviser to Manny Pacquiao, WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto is willing to fight Manny at a catch-weight of 144-pounds. Top Rank promotes both fighters and would love to match them at the end of year - if Cotto is able to get past Joshua Clottey on June 13 at New York's Madison Square Garden

Manny showed up at the last minute because Arum begged Pacman to show up, he promised writers that Pacman will show up to receive his FOTY award and since the fight was in the same city and a day away of course Pacman is going to watch the fight. Arum had this all planned out to sell this match-up ever since Pac destroyed Hatton.

Pac is the biggest fight out here for anyone at 140 or 147, the only way to make it is the catchweight and Cotto seems to be interested so far. Cotto already said that if he doesn't get this fight he's going for a rematch with Mosley.

There's no need for proof. Arum already said that he WON'T do any deals with Goossen after the Williams/Pavlik talks fell. He was hiding Margarito from Williams and never wanted Margarito to take the first fight anyway, you think he will send Cotto who is squishier?

Common sense is required here not proof.
