why do you keep bring up floyd, I lost an avatar bet lets stick to the thread topic, which is Cotto. Floyd was lineal Champion in 3 divisions meaning he beat the champ in the ring. Cotto won vacant titles against the likes of Micheal Jennings, Quintana and Pinto

Floyd beat Genero Hernandez, Jose Luis Castillo, And Carlos Baldomir(via Zab Judah) who was the rightful Undisputed Welterweight Champion of the world something cotto, Mosley, Margarito never were.

 

I agree everyone is thinking too much about size which is why the upraor about a catch weight is so confusing. The bottom line is that PAC would fight at 147, but he has his team who looks out for his best interest as a fighter. So it comes down to doing what is in the best interest of the fighters, right? Cotto and his team are all for PAC b/c of his status...its a great opportunity that they don't want to miss. PAC is in the driver seat and he likes the opportunity and challenge Cotto presents but his came wants to make the fight fair...where the catch weight comes in. Everyone wins if this fight is made...no mater the weight but you can't blame PAC and Roach!

 

Why so much hate??? If Cotto feels he can make it to 145 healthy then that's the end of it. He's a grown ass man that doesn't need to hear you guys saying he'll be drained if dropped two pounds. You guys aren't the one's fighting. Give them credit for just making this fight happen w/ out postponing it and honor the winner. :?

We all know he lost the first Castillo fight, cotto also destroyed judah, had a war with torres, and mosley, and others. Do you know how easy it is for fighters to get a belt now adays? Floyd has nothing to brag about.

 

No he didn't it was a close fight either way. And what did he do??? re-match asap. you gotta respect that. Cotto beat judah who Floyd had already beaten. what does having a war with Torres prove??? and the Mosley win was a good win.

Regarding the belts yes i know how easy it is to get a belt. i just showed you 3 examples of Cotto getting titles by fighting non-champions. Then I gave 3 examples of Floyd beating lineal champions not just title holders. the man who beat the man.

im sorry but you seem pretty lost... the idea was brought to cottos attention and he wouldnt mind fighting manny... he also has said and I could get you videos that wasnt the only fight open to him and if it doesnt happend... he was willing to fight mosley in a rematch and a possible rematch against margarito... at the end of the day cotto is the one fighting the top guys in his division with no restrictions, you ask me "high risk low reward" in no way is cotto the smaller guy which they are making him to be... manny already has so many advantages is not even funny... they both have about the same height and reach so I dont know where the smaller guy comes into playatsch...

so that makes Mayweather special and Cotto notatsch, a champion is a champion, at the end of the day every champ has to defend his title, they have to fight for it. Even if he wins it vacant or by beating another individual. They both have the same duties and thats keeping the belt and defending it... Other choices is also moving up in weight and cherry picking another individual. Everyone has their opinion, but I also respect the guy whos trying to sweep his own division, give credit where is due:good

 

Because of the weight, I don't see how they can say that when it's Manny the one looking for the bigger guys. So if he loses he has no one to blame but himself
