I know Louis would beat him, I'm just wondering if that hairy yeti has a good enough chin to go 12 rounds w/ a prime Joe. If you think he doesn't, state what round would this fight end then
I don't think Louis would be able to hit Valuev with 100% power behind his shots considering his height. Buddy Baer was 6'6... Valuev's... what, 6 or 7 inches taller then that? Evander certainly had a hard time hitting him flush because of his height.
I think Valuev can even do some good work because Louis is in range and Valuev has a good jab. But i do think Louis would still stop him if he really went all out in the later rounds or even earlier. Just too much of an arsenal.
I think Louis would be doing target practice on the guy. He may be tall, but he's eventually going to slink down when Joe gets enough shots to the body. If it's the Louis from the Schmeling fight, I think he could stop Valuev. There's just too much target there.
I don't know about that. It seemed like Holyfield had an easy time hitting him but a tough time hurting him. :good Valuev can be hit despite his height, rather easily in fact, having seen most of his bouts. He just has an amazing ability to absorb punishment. Not sure if he could walk through this kind of firepower however although it is possible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSt7ziz_XWQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91SNCeMgPyM
Louis would get inside Valuev's reach sooner or later. Only thing I wonder is if Louis would knock that St. Bernard sized head off Valuev's shoulders.
Well we had fore runner of this with Carnera v Louis, its tempting to say Louis blows him out as he did the Italian ,but Valuev is considerably bigger than Carnera and appears to be more durable,I say appears because he hasn't met the punchers that poor Primo was thrashed by. I think Louis gives him a very painful night via an extended body beating.Valuev probably survives the route ,but I wouldnt want his ribs the next morning.
It's a bit of speculation, as Valuev has never been truly hurt or down, but the he hasn't really faced a big puncher. Despite that however, he has had 220+lbs men tee off on him and land flush combinations, with little effect. Because his defence is rather weak, i would pick Louis by stoppage, but in general a rock hard chin outlasts a rock hard punch... outlasts, as in survives.
Did anybody hear that crash? That was the sound that results from thinking about Louis-Valuev and what would happen as soon as Louis found the giant's chin. Like all big man that Louis fought, Valuev would fall...hard, in round 6, if not sooner, and take an awful Primo Carnera type beating along the way.
Valuevs defense isn't good enough. He has a rock solid chin, but you can't let Joe Louis tee off on you, no matter how good your chin is.
louis inflicts a savage beating tko 7 valuev saved by ref on his feet getting beheaded against the ropes
