Are you guys serious? Louis by devastating Kayo before round 5...No way Valuev can take flush joe louis combinations for more than 3 rounds....We are talking about the greatest puncher we have ever seen or will ever see
Would Don King let Valuev take the fight? Perhaps the WBA would prefer that he rematched John Ruiz at this stage.
I am afraid it is going to be a horrible sight when Valuev gets in the ring with a puncher with skills...It will be ugly...Louis vs Valuev would be ugly....Big difference between the fighters Nick has faced and Joe Louis. Valuev is a nice enough guy and I would hate to see him hurt. Right now he is Kings only heavyweight of some esteem and King just overstated Vlauev's worth for a match with Vitali. The giant will lose when in with a decent puncher with skills or a boxer with skills. I think Nick has heart but when he goes down it will be hard for him to get up.
This is pretty much how I see it, particulary with respect to the chin over the punch. Until or unless Valuev has his durability dented, it's presumptuous to assume that Louis would be able to hurt and drop him. However, I think this matchup would become so one-sided and noncompetitive that there would be virtually no choice but to eventually stop it (acceding to audience demands to halt the mismatch). The big man would be little more than a punching bag. Even without leaving his feet, he'd be losing rounds by two points under the ten point system.
Dung King would have forced Louis out of his wheelchair to face Duran, according to one scribe discussing King shortly after Montreal. To King's credit, he decided that he wanted nothing more to do with Duran after New Orleans, so even he has standards.
I've gotta believe that Louis would do him on accumulation some time around the middle rounds. Valuev has size and chin on his side, but this is balanced by poor defence and poor reflex reaction. Louis lands once too often, game over.
Louis would brutally **** Valuev's rectum before pulling his dick out and slapping Valuev's face with it - KOing him.
No one that puts on that kind of performance vs a 46 year old, shot, Evander (who beat him) is going to do much vs Louis.
That is a likely outcome. I think it would be somewhat similar to the Abe Simon rematch, minus the knockdowns, but with the towel thrown in or a mercy stoppage otherwise. I do think Valuev is better than Simon and he went 13 the first time, so it might come a bit later than the 5th. No way King/Sauerland would. I'd even be surprised if they risked him against today's version of Joe Louis.
Valuev was more skilled than Simon, and far more durable than Carnera. Simon and Carnera were big. Valuev has 5" and 50 pounds on them. I think Louis would beat Valuev to the punch and chop him down in the late rounds. I don't see a blow out here. It took Louis a while to put Simon away, and he had less offensive and defensive skill than Valuev did.
This could get ugly...over 15 rounds, I think all manner of pain will be inflicted on Valuev. Louis was a great combination puncher, but he could really swat in terms of one-punch hitting, too. Over 45 minutes, I can't think of a man alive that can take Louis' shots, and many would be flush, hard punches. Valuev is so big that once Louis breaks through with his timing and distance, Joe can really sit down on his punches and have a field day. To be honest, it would resemble more a public execution than a fight after a few rounds, because Valuev is tough enough to take sustained punishment for several rounds, but not for the whole fight.
