Pretty much. I think he's a fair-weather fighter, rather paradoxical as far as Mexicans are concerned.

Kellerman sized him up right..Well Ortiz you just lost a TON of fans (i wasnt one) shows how immature he is and not a true boxing spirit

No need to talk **** about the kid, but he should stop wasting everybody's time and money and get out of the sport.

Man... Maidana showed a lot of heart! I thought he was already gonna quit in round 2. He got up and knelt again. Even though Victor was pummeling him with punches, he got caught a few times but Maidana never quit. Victor on the other hand, got nervous. It really shows he needs more exposure to veterans. I mean if Maidana caught him with surprise right straights, he is not yet ready for the big boys ( Pacquiao, Campbell, Marquez, Mayweather, etc. )

Victor is still young. He is very young.

people buy into this whole idea that a trainer can be the difference between winning and losing. It's true. But not in this case. Ortiz lost because he didn't have winning on his mind after getting knocked down, he had his future in mind. The post fight interview confirmed it. He doesn't want to persue greatness in Boxing, its to tough. By his own admission.

He was way to happy at the end, it seemed like he was finally at peace with himself and he knows where he is headed.

    ...not in the gym.

the guy has great potential. Power with fast combos. He needs to alter his style with a fukkin defence!

If Ortiz was to pair with any trainer, it should be Floyd srn, he should be best suited as hes known for defense and thats certainly something Ortiz needs to work on.
