He doesn't lack heart as a person, just as a fighter. He can't recover the fanbase after that I'm afraid.
He could have gone on, for like 5 seconds until he was laid flat. We just want fighters to be counted out as fans, but if Caiz looked at him and called it, we'd yell at the ref. None of this matters, he lost, was going to lose before he said he had enough, that's the bottom line. He showed a helluva lot of heart up until that point, he took some great shots, he got KD in the 1st round, which everyone seems to forget now. It was a great fight, but all you guys want to talk about is him quiting, like the rest of the **** didn't happen.

I turned it off to watch Juanma straight after. I was a bit pissed at his lack of heart, though. Is that actually what Ortiz said word for word? If so then that pretty much says it all- idiot does not know he's born. Get a proper job then if you're gonna disrespect the sport, mate, and see how you like it then. Instant gratification culture unearths another gem!:-( It's evident that his heart is not in it.
People criticize him, and maybe rightfully so. But I don't think it's particularly shameful. Maybe he just took a beating much worse than he has before, and realized boxing wasn't for him. It's actually a pretty manly thing to do. I don't know how many of you have been in the ring, but boxing HURTS. A LOT.
Nope. A fighter knows the risks before entering the ring, so if you're going to enter the ring, you can't be concerned about how you're going to be speaking later in life. There is brain damage involved in boxing, and if that is too high a price to pay, don't box. They're the words of someone embarrassed by getting outslugged.
After listening to that, I'll make a prediction. He'll fight once or twice more for the $$$ and then he's DONE.
Shut the **** up fool! I'm not saying Vic didn't quit but he has a decent chin. He ate SEVERAL clean shots last night and didn't go down. And he was HURT bad in round one and got up and continued. The kid has balls but he just knew he wasn't going to win with the kind of shots he was eating. Cotto did the same thing with Marg. I think he did what he had to do. Vic obviously did not have the experience and gameplan to win the fight. He had the better technique but did not implement a smart gameplan. No jab, banging with a real puncher and not setting up his offence with the right footwork. He's 22. He can come back if his confidence and heart are not damaged too bad. He lost to a really strong and powerful guy who no one really knew about. But too many are saying some really bogus **** about vic. I wish him the best and hope he comes back.
