Abraham/Oral vs Pavlik/Rubio

It was a bum fight. Kinda like what bute gets into.

 

Abraham, as usual, inspected Oral for three rounds, then the destruction began, ending in the 10th round, when Orals corner (after the third knockdown/knee in the roundm and the fifth(?) in the fight) threw the towel. I guess Abraham could have ended the fight earlier. You can call it a homecrowd-pleaser.

I think Oral did quite well, he was far from the likes of Sato. A quality gatekeeper but no top 5-10 MW.

Oral connected with a lot of power shots and even hurt Abraham. He just didn't have the necessary KO power. Abraham will be in a bad way when he moves to 168.

It was a man fighting a boy. Anything Oral did, it was because Abraham simply covered up and let him. But as soon as Abraham went on the offensive, it was a complete mismatch. It's kind of funny how easily Abraham can just hurt his opponents when he starts to let his hands go.

 

Well this is the 2nd time another nobody give Arthur a harder time then what he expected

 

I don't follow Abraham that much so i can't tell you his weight situation but it's been rumored that he's having trouble staying at 160 so he'll move up. The question is not if but when.

 

Abraham didn't have a hard time. You didn't see the fight huh?

 

It was a good fight. Pavlik-Rubio was more one-sided, this was more entertaining. Abraham was in better condition than vs. Simon, who lost a very close and competitive decision to top5 MW Sylvester in the undercard BTW.

Those extra 8 pounds will be very good to Arthur, he just has to forget about weight-training and get a conditioning expert. Glad Showtime picked up the fight, Oral definitely made it competitive, had a good gameplan, showed some above average skills, threw a lot of punches and showed a lot of heart, Abraham was just too much.

BTW, Ahmet Öner almost stole the show. After the 9th, the ref went into the Oral corner and threatened to stop the fight becuase Mahir was taking too much punishment, but Öner said:

"This is his strategy, he's waiting. Listen, we are fighters. We're from Turkey, we are warriors"

Well, that seemingly convinced the ref who walked away. Then Öner winked to somebody with a smile, I don't know what was he on. But the ref was talked out of stopping the fight so well that he failed to finish it 3 knockdowns later and ironically it was the corner who pulled out Mahir. Weird.
