Being in shape is not the issue here. It's knowing you had a weight to make and waiting till the last minute to lose it. You can look in shape at any weight.
Every fighter waits till the last minute to make weight. Every fighter starts cutting 1-3 days prior to weigh in,
Marquez after facing Pacquiao went up in weight for no tune up fight but instead fought still a very good fighter in Casamayor even if Casa is past his prime but he wasn't close of being a shot weight drain fighter like De la hoya is. Marquez in his next fight went on to face another top fighter at 135 pounds in Juan Diaz and Marquez won that fight by tko. Now Marquez is moving up 2 weight class to face Mayweather who is still at his peak.
Most but not all. And not all try to lose a ton in those few days. And on the weight thing. You got link? I'd like to know if it is truely at 144 or 147 on the JMM and PBF.

if you say so man, i wouldn't argue it. :yep can you make a public poll? pac fought dlh practically same age as casa but just happened to fight someone as big as bernard hopkins. between casa and dlh, who do you think is the more dangerous opponent? between juan diaz and hatton, who do you think is the more dangerous opponent?
When someone is acting like a total jackass and liar they deserve to be called that. Specially after 6 beers.
:rofl:rofl:rofl. forgive the posers here. its difficult to defend a scumbag like pbf. fans tend to emulate their idols remember. :hey like talking **** for example. :rofl
what's your source? because PBF says so? PBF wouldn't go down to 140 for hatton whom he visibly outsized in their welterweight match, whereas pac made 138 for his fight with hatton and he was visibly the smaller fighter at fight night
You can't possibly be serious? Who's more dangerous opponents between a weight drain shot De la hoya who only make 147 pounds on fight night or Casa who might be past his prime but still is very good and was the legit light weight champion? Juan Diaz or Ricky Hatton? hmm honestly that's a tough one cause Diaz who lost his first fight to Campbell by decision but after that Diaz easily beat Katisdis. Hatton way before facing Pacquiao barely survive vs Collazo and Collazo even hurt Hatton badly. <<<After that Hatton beat Laz but Laz is a freaking light weight and he hurt Hatton badly in that fight in which Hatton to hold on. Hatton beat Urango in one of the most boring fights he's ever been on and Urango even hurt Hatton with some good shots if i remember correctly. After that Mayweather tko Hatton in which Hatton was stunned very bad and was knockdown twice. I always say Hatton was never really that good in which he keeps proving my point.
I agree with eze but for different reasons. I'm guessing he wants the fight to be at 147 so that Pac has a better chance of losing. I'm new here, so it's just a guess. I want the fight to be at 147 so that if Pac wins, he wins BIG, no weight drained excuses. To people that say 1 lb is no big deal, what about when Pac fought Singsurat? Pac weighed in at 113, just 1 lb over the flyweight limit, but still over the limit so he was stripped of his belt before the fight even began. If 1 lb is not a big deal, why couldn't Pac lose just 1 little pound then? Again, for the biggest win, Pac should let Cotto weigh in anywhere he wants from 141-147. But I've read articles where Freddie Roach has admitted what he feels are Pac's limitations as a fighter, and that's the reason he wants the catchweight. He doesn't feel that Pac has a fair chance of winning at 147 because of the size difference. I can understand that, but it's disappointing if you're a Pac fan that wants to see him win with the least amount of doubts possible. If he loses to Cotto with Cotto at 147, Pac has a built in excuse - the bigger man won, no shame in that.
