I totally understand what you're saying, but as far as I know, it's only America that uses a phrase like african-american.

In England, Haye is English. End of story. He's a black man, and he's English.

I find it odd that African-American is the PC term chosen, but I suppose what else can you choose. Personally, I'd have black - just like you have white.

You don't have European-Americans do you - or do you?
