    Injury my bollix,
Its a bit convienent he will be fit again around the same time brian peters is going to hold a show, whats the odds on McCloskey fighting for the european title on a Brian Peters show, with an undercard of peters stable fighters,
    TOTAL JOKE!!!!

It's safer contest for Paul at home, and it means we can all go to cheer him on at The Point or simply watch it on RTE.

Jamie Conlon will turn pro at The Point also.

This is a smart business move by McCloskey. He would have alot to do just to get the nod in France and although as a boxing man i feel sorry for the french lad who is being screwed by all this, Paul has to put his own interests first.
I agree september will probably see Bernard back in the ring and McCloskey is a perfect main undercard fighter for this but will it be or the European title i dont know,I hope the french lad gets a shot at McCloskey if that is the case.

Jamie is a flyweight, strong and aggressive but primarily a box/fighter. John Breen will train and manage him. Uncertain about long term prospects as he has never really cut it above Ulster senior level, but with the lack of active flyweights or superflys in Ireland or Britain it should mean he should get some form of title fight in his career.I know wee Jamie and he is a nice respectful kid, and I wish him the very best in his career.
