After the Ortiz fight the majority of Ortiz nuthuggers became disgusted with him in general after he chose to quit in the 6th round.

After the Manny Pacquiao vs Cotto fight apparently scheduled to take place later this year if Cotto totally dismantles Pacquiao and knocks him clean out how many *******s will jump the fence?

It has become a trend on this site to just jump to who is not hot to who is hot.

It happened when Mosley beat Margarito and it happened when Pacquiao beat Oscar and Hatton.

What is it about the people on here who just jump ship to follow who is hot?

The point is are people on this site really boxing fans or just glory hunters?

I find it funny how we can support a fighter with our heart and soul and then just turn on them at the 1st sign of them not living up to your expectations as a fighter...

    Views and opinions are appreciated.

People are fickle...I can be fickle with guys Im marginally a fan of.

But with Pac, Im a big fan..In some ways he has no business beating guys like Hatton and Hoya considering where he came from.
Even a very brutal loss wont change the fact he is my favorite fighter in the world right now.

Im a big Cotto fan too..and his loss to Marga didnt change that..Im just more realistic about his limitations now.

regarding Pac i will continue to be his fan even if he loses to Cotto, just the fact that hes fighting Cotto is one of the main reasons i am his fan cause i like fighters that take risks and fight the best, fighters that dare to be great, guys like that will always get my respect even if they lose .

I will remain loyal to Pac even if he loses. I will continue to be an enthusiast of boxing after the Pac era. I will watch out for emerging prospects, Pinoy or non-Pinoys, because boxing is a universal sport which should transcends boundaries. If Cotto wins, I will also root for him in his coming fights. He's my second idol after Pac.

Personally, i don't feel the fault is in supporting a fighter and then turning on him when he loses, although i agree that some of these "fans" making 180 degree turns cuz of 1 dissapointing performance are laughable.

But i think the bigger fault is in idolizing and deifying these fighters. You know, as far as i can tell, they're just guys like the rest of us, and they say and do stupid things and **** up like the rest of us, too.
That's why i like to say i'm not necessarily a "hardcore fan"of any one fighter, i'm a fan of exciting fights and quality boxing. If a guy delivers that, then i'm thankful to him, and if he doesn't i'm not.

I'm still a fan of ODH and I still like Ortiz but I was almost sure he was going to lose this match. For Pac fans Cotto is a WW so they have an excuse. They will maybe live him only if he lose to a guy like Valero for example. I don't dislike nuthugging as much as trow **** on a fighter who is down after a loss. Nice thread

On the bandwagon all the way, expect to see a lot of former Margarito fans jump off the bandwagon and back on Cotto's IF he wins.

Regarding the fight, Pacquiao by TKO within the first 5 rounds.

Sorry, but the "Pac came from 106" excuse is dead. Pac is 140 now, and asking Cotto to fight him at a catch weight is *****. He should fight Campbell or Bradley. Bypassing Shane and going for Cotto at a catch weight has me rooting for Cotto to knock Pac out. You guys will still be Pac's fans because you will leave a note next to your body after you *******s commit suicide because your hero lost.

Don't think I'm being harsh or hating on Cotto, I'm a fan of his too. Just my prediction based on their styles.

Nallege, do you think Cotto will come out weight drained at l45? Actually, Pac and his sidekick Marquez are not supposed to be fighting in 140-145. They like interlopers invading in someone else's property. It was because of the DLH that he jumped two weight divisions from his comfort zone. Win or not, these two great fighters should be given credit for their courage. Not unlike the comebacking fighter we know.

That's because he knows that if Cotto fights Pac at a catch weight, Cotto loses big time.
