The size will always be an excuse, regardless of what weight he is at now. Duran was a MW when he fought Hagler, yet people see it as a victory for Duran to even last the distance with Hagler. Despite Duran having spent more time at MW than Pac at WW, Duran was still not at his optimum weight at 160 as he was at 135. Just as Pac will not by physically at his optimum weight at 147 as he was at 122-130.

If Cotto "outboxes" Pac, fair due. However if Cotto brutally KO's Pac at 147....that right there is as hardcore evidence as any that Pac physically isnt what he was in the lower weights. To put it into perspective, Pac's chin withstood the best at 126-130 from JMM, Morales, MAB...all of whom were KO punchers just as Cotto is at 147. The fact that those guys landed bombs and couldnt knock out Pac and if Cotto were to KO Pac shows that it was size that KO'd Pac...Pac isnt at his optimum weight for taking these punches. His power & speed may carry with him but the thickness of your chin & skull doesnt change.

Valero-Pac won't happen. Valero is too much of a threat. It'll never happen:good.

I feel bad for how Ortiz is getting treated. He showed heart and he showed skills. He was in a War and unfortunately I don't think he or his corner had the right game plan. The tools are all there....He was just doing what a lot of young prospects do. They get over excited and fail to stay composed in an all action fight like that one.

Unfortunately he was out gunned and he chose to fight and bang with a man who likes to brawl. Ortiz is young and his corner didnt' do their job. YES....Ortiz quit. He took a lot of punishment and by the way he was being instructed and by the way he "chose" to fight his kind of fighter there was no other result but him loosing.

I think he did the right thing, as did Cotto when he had no answers when fighting Marg. I don't think that the way they went out should be frowned upon. They are in a very vicious business and a very dangerous one. They should listen to their body's and live to fight anther day. It wasn't like he just up and quit...he dug deep, gave some and got worse. But I just hope his pride isn't broken to where he can't come back better! People are being far too harsh on this kid.

ANyway....PAC TKO's Cotto brah. Too many dynamics vs only one of Cotto's...well TWO. Size and strenght. PAC is operating on a completely different level but it should be action packed for as long as it lasts.

Cotto was honest to say that if they ask for a fight below 145 he WON'T take it because he knows his body won't handle it. So a catchweight of 145 sounds fair when he agrees on it and if he agrees he knows he can make it without any issues otherwise he would have declined like he did when anything below 145 was mentioned.

Wrong, that's because of their styles. Catchweight has nothing to do with it in this one as I already mentioned, if they can't make it they would have said NO like they said NO for anything below 145. Cotto isn't stupid to put everything on the line for one major fight knowing that a Mosley rematch is possible, Margarito rematch and other fights he can make good money in.

Until Valero fights a credible opponent, he will never have a crack on Pac nor Marquez. He has to prove himself first.

I also don't think that is going to happen it was just a good example for for a fight that can shake the Pac nuthugging community if he lose it. Because if he lose to any of the big WW they have their excuses and I can not blame them. The little guy is an ATG so if he didn't lose to someone less known and of equal size he is not losing his nuthuggers :))

Scar, you know that this fight should not be at a catch weight nor should Cotto's WBO title should be on the line. Stop fakin the funk ok? You're going to pick Pac against anyone anyway...even Floyd so...

Nope, my posts are clearly based on recent comments and since nothing new is brought up regarding weight it means that phase of negotiating is done with and the fight should be made official soon. Here's the latest from Bob Arum.
