Bautista actually was pretty good but had a glass chin. He had power and potential. Too bad his chin is trash.

Nonito Donaire defo is the front runner.
(His win against Darchinyan only continues to grow as Vic continues to win)

Nah....... None of that crop will be the next. It will be someone we least expect. I don't think the next Pacman will be from the Philipines. The next Pacman is flying below the radar right now, Erislandy Lara, Rashad Holloway.

    Donaire is already legit.

Concepcion is one marquee win away.

If Mayol can score a rematch with Calderon, and win, he has P4P offensive skills...defense, stamina, and chin is another story.

THOSE THREE I WILL STAND BEHIND.

AJ Banal is on his way back from the upset loss for the WBA interim belt at 115. They rushed him way too soon, but he has plenty of skills too.

Out of the relatively "unknown" prospects, I've been impressed with Martin Sonsona and Ciso Morales, but I'm not gonna give them my stamp of approval yet until I see them in with tougher competition. Mark Jason Melligen and Michael Farenas are more established names in Filipino boxing and are on the cusp of bigger things in the US if they can get signed by Top Rank, who is looking at both closely.

About Boom Boom, maybe he was rushed too early by Golden Boy (ANOTHER case of mishandling by Oscar), maybe he was never destined to be the second coming to begin with. Personally I don't think Bautista has it, unfortunately. He could've been a force at 118 with one-punch power but with the current monsters at 122 his D is still way too wide open to win a belt. I think he fell in love with his power and because of the limitations of his chin, didn't develop the boxing skills to adapt if he were forced into a chess match or counter punching contest.

Antonio L. Aldeguer (A.L.A. are his initials) was the founder and benefactor of the gym. His son Michael runs day-to-day operations now. The head trainer, Edito Villamor, has the nickname "ALA" for the reason he came up in the gym. Villamor was a top prospect at 105 but fell short in his title shot against Finito Lopez on one of those old school deeeeeep King undercards.

IMO abe has the most potential to be the more marketable fighter out the 4.

too bad steven luevano pulled out of theyre fight.. an impressive win would have established abe as a young, strong and recognizable up & comer.

no diss to nonito, but abe has a style thats simply more fan friendly.

    steven, my bad.

and if steven would have chose to break out of his tech boxing style and trade (which he tends to do) abe would have ripped his head off..

well thats what i'd expect a vet to do considering abe is still green.

totally writing him off this early is a bit much.. we all know abe needs improvement in the tech boxing department but he does possess that raw power that could put anyone on their ass.

any word on whats going on with boom boom, boom boom?

how the freak should I know?

I was never a supporter of his, I was a big time Banal supporter for years though but quitting against Rafa.Concepcion was really heartbreaking, its hard to forgive a quitter.

A prospect we should be looking out for is Marvin Sonsona, a mirror fighter of Donaire.

Pac is from Mindanao and so was Nonito. Another dude that packs serious pop is Maraon. He KO a top Us bantamweight in sparring with 1 punch. If Vic Darchi takes this guy lightly he will be out cold. I do not think he'll get up from this kid bombs. And they're targeting Darchi!!
