Those fighters were knocked out against a great fighter that many belive he's the best fighter of this era, Many already have him as a top 20 ATG, what the hell is so funny about that?:huh it is not like if they were knocked out against a bum or something.
Booty hurt? lol.. nah dont think so man, i just dont see whats funny of fighters been knocked out by a true ATG like Pacquiao, it's a great pic though.
I think the sooner we admit that guys like Manny are once every decade or two phenomenons, the less disappoint we set ourselves up for. On another note, that "Who Nex'?" pic is a classic.
Milmascaras1, I respect your points but knowing where you're coming from regarding your inner feelings about Filipino fighters, I'm going to take them with a grain of salt. First of all, your argument about Mayol. Who cares what other people were saying when he was undefeated? Why don't you actually read what I typed up there? If he gets a rematch against Calderon and scores a KD, that would be incredible since the only guy to really hurt him was Cazares. His power is proven in that he rocked a legit champ like Solis to the canvas, and that was his first fight at 108. So yes, offensively, he has a very good offensive arsenal. About Banal, with the right handlers, he can be a champ. It doesn't help that Golden Boy rushed him into a title fight at age 19. Again, I highly doubt you've seen him fight by your comments (now don't go to YouTube and then name drop and act like you have afterwards). I already said what I thought about Boom Boom Bautista. Your comment about Sonsona is ridiculous. Have you seen Sonsona fight? One round on YouTube doesn't count. It sounds to me like you hate the fighters because of the hype. That's not the fighters' fault. Your "criticism" isn't anything more than veiled hatred. Clearly you're not going to give any credit to any of these fighters if they prove you wrong and accomplish things in the sport, so why not just spit it out and say, "Regardless of analyzing their skills for what they are and looking at the sport from an objective standpoint, let me be honest and say that I hate all Filipinos and they would all hit the canvas if I had a magic lamp. But I don't , so now let me get some tissue."
Exhibition bout. This was a couple years ago before Concepcion had won a regional belt (WBC Youth doesn't count). Get Concepcion some legit trainers and time and see what he does. He's already been to Mexico and won a decision despite taking on a Mexican pressure fighter in Ruiz who was leading with his head and had him backing up to the ropes the whole time. And Ruiz is no joke. He's fought tough cookies like Cristobal Cruz and Antonio Escalante, and stopped an albeit past-it Wayne McCullough. One of his recent fights, forgot which one, Concepcion threw a right uppercut after backing up to KO his opponent. The angle of the pivot he took in making the transition from stepping back to avoid the jab then going to his right diagonally to throw what seemed to be an old-school 3/4 hook/uppercut was pretty incredible for a young prospect. He's definitely the best of the bunch of the Filipino prospects/contenders.
I think Bernabe really has the tools to make a name for himself. If Arum however holds true to what he said about putting him in with JuanMa should he defeat Lueveno in his next fight then that chould significantly back track his career if not ruin him completely because he certainly isn't ready for that kind of a step up.
hmm says... it ain't banal for sure even though he looked well in his last fight. Concepicon is meh....Donaire looks like win with not enough promotion or big breaks.
They're dreaming. That's like Melligen calling out Mayweather or Katsidis calling out Pacquiao. Maraon has to prove himself in the US for at least a year or two.
Well I don't consider Donaire a prospect so I agree. I think some people are being unusually harsh on a kid. He's still a kid really and if he ever develops more, He'll be a title holder.
He's already moved up to 26 to fight Luevano in August. I think that's a more comfortable weight for him to carry but the question is if his power will carry up, because if not, then he really needs to work on his jab and inside fighting to rack up points when the power isn't there. He has the tools (handspeed and footwork) to adapt from boxer-puncher to boxer, but again, does he have the trainer to do it?
hmm says... no second comng of Pacquiao... only one and we probably won't see one in a few decades or so.
