I love Pavlik, the guy is a warrior and I have no doubt he fights arthur, NO DOUBT, I just can't say the same for Arum.
Let's wait and see what gets signed. AA is looking for a 'money' fight and it doesn't appear it will happen against Kelly. Not sure who he will get the money he is looking for to face at 168 though.
Source I trust VERY well made it clear Kelly wasn't signing **** 'til the Mora fight was dusted.:yep You never know with Mando's though, which are hard to hold against anybody.
Guarantee you I'd be tuned in. I have a liking for Bute as well, and I certainly have respect for AA, so that **** would be hot.:yep
168 just isn't a good idea for Arthur (just as it isn't for Kelly). They need to settle the question at 160, and accept whatever role they fall into as a result (ie #1 and #2). Top super middles will beat both of them. Doesn't take away from them being the two best middleweights, just means neither of them is big enough to carry their h2h supremacy up in weight to a division loaded with talent (not to mention physical advantages - all the top guys are quite a bit stronger than Pavlik and way taller than Abraham)
i'd love for abraham to take on pavlik but he just can't make the weight comfortably anymore. if they wait any long abraham will be so weight drained he'll look like oscar
Most likely true. I have to believe as a fan if either moves up, they feel they can do what they have to. But your points are very valid. I know I'd be nervous as **** for a Pavlik/Bute showdown. Something about Bute (I like him for one) and his south paw stance, that admittedly Kelly has limited experience with SP's esp. of high quality. I'd HAVE to believe that if either go, it would be for good, and they'd take the time necessary to get "built" right for the weight.
I have to disagree intentional, and the only reason i disagree, because I would have agreed with you before I saw how arthur was toying with miranda at 166, I realize miranda is a crude slugger and comp will be a little stiffer but if arthur comes in looking the way he did against miranda, HE WILL BE A THREAT TO ANYONE at 168, mark my words, win or lose, ANY fight against ANYBODY at 168 is going to be action packed. I think his power at 168 is going to be unbelieavable, again no disrespect to your post but I am basing this with the arthur I saw against miranda at 166.:good
Thanks Pipe, hope you are well man, I think a loss is SO OVERRATED with some fans and posters. A good example is Darch, yeah he got KTFO, but it looks like it has done wonders for his career and if he beats agbeko, he can guarantee himself pushing p4p 5 or 6.
Yes, sir! Big part of why the best DON'T fight the best these days, is cause it seems so catastrophic to LOSE 1 friggin' fight, even if it's competive and against quality fighter.:yep
I hate to be the one to stop the party, but Bute/Andrade II is going to purse bid tomorrow. Abraham did not look drained AT ALL against Oral. I've been telling you guys for months that Sauerland never had any intention of allowing Pavlik/Abraham to happen. His so called "negotiating" has been limited to press releases. If you can crack, and you can box a bit, you do NOT get to fight Arthur. His resume' proves that.
I agree that his resume for the most part is ****, BUT i think he really wants the Pavlik fight and I honestly think he's drained. He looks far more comfy in the second miranda fight
