In boxing all injuries are looked at as fake injuries when they happen, you can go all the way back to Liston/Ali II, Foreman/Ali, Tyson/Holyfield and so on. Fact is, people tend to overreact when they happen because they get pissed it got postponed and the media loves to feed them rumors to chew on and keep talks/interest on the fight up till the postponement date gets close.

Increase talk/interest about a postponed fight is not guaranteed... It depends on what the rumors why the fight got postponed... If it's because of slow ticket sales then more people now aware of that expected uninteresting (probably boring) fight...

My comment about increasing talk has nothing to do with bringing interest. What I meant is that the media would send out different rumors about why certain fights are postponed to keep fans chewing on something, it doesn't mean that they're looking to promote it, hell no, just keep talks up till the postponement date draws near.

As I said, fans tend to believe whatever bull**** is thrown at them regarding postponements, fans never ever believe a fighter is injured it's either some bull**** theory behind it to them or the fighter is "Scared". That's where you can tell the noobs from the true fans who know that injuries play a major role not just in boxing but all sports and in boxing it's the most because that's far more physical than other sports.

HBO favor GBP & its fighters over Top Ranks much more impressive stable all the time.
I cant believe upcoming unbelievable prospects like Urbano Antillon...Anthony Peterson...Mike Alvarado...Vanes Martirosyan for example or legit top 5 guys in their weightclasses like Edwin Valero...Humberto Soto...Nonito Donaire...Giovanni Segura cant get 1 HBO BAD slot.
Its all politics...read the article up now on the site thats the SCENE for BOXING...plus all hauser's articles too.

That's why I like the showtime shobox series cause they give exposure to the up and coming guys that are good but aren't household names

I agree, normal or casual boxing fans tends to believe the rumors floating around... If the rumor is about "slow ticket sales" then they tend to believe it since there were also numerous boxing news articles that mentioned it...

Whereas the hardcore/purist boxing fans takes injuries as part of the game... They're also very much interested in a fight between 2 master counterpunchers for it could be a good mental tactical fight just like the game of chess...

But normal/casual boxing fans outnumber the hardcore/purist ones and this fact alone doesn't help a fight promoted as a megafight... A megafight should also stir the interest of normal/casual boxing fans... A megafight should give something for the entertainment/interest of normal/casual boxing fans...

If Chavez Jr switched to GBP, he would be their #2 Fighter.

Here's what promoter Gary Shaw said about GBP "snatching" tactics in a recent interview:

He (Gary Shaw) also promoted now imprisoned James Kirkland before GBP hijacked that undefeated junior middleweight.

GBP also hijacked (Victor) Ortiz away from Bob Arum and Top Rank.

Maybe there is a pattern here as the Goldens also hijacked Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz away from erstwhile promoter Don King.

Not to mention, but I must, the attempted hijacking of Mr. Pacquiao from my Uncle Bob (Top Rank).

It's a surprising coincidence tho that those boxers mentioned above (except PAC) either lost in big fights or got major problems elsewhere after GBP snatched them from other promoters...

    ;)
