yeah ok buddy...haha ortiz had him out ...maidana is tuf but ortiz fought the wrong fight...he got caught and didn't want to risk his carreer when he was beat to ****...there is a point where a young fighter just can't go on...he showed heart to get up from the first knockdown and floor him twice more...he lost...he was gracious and humble...

I got the impression from listening to the interview, he never recovered from that first KD, so in the respect, he did quite well.

I'm not so sure about this. King is much more visible than Arum or any other promoter during his run. He puts himself in the public with his loud, outspoken, and over the top persona. When you are a public figure to the degree that King is then you essentially put a bullseye on yourself for all sorts of scrutiny. I don't see it as a race thing but more a Don King thing.

I saw in the interview that Arum was complaining the GBP has all the dates but not the talent to fill the dates up with. True or not true the irony is that not that long ago Arum had all the VS channel boxing dates and the talent to fill up the cards with quality matchmaking. Then he went and made a laughing stock of the entire series. Arum pulled one over on the Vs channel and now he is complaining that GBP is using one of his tricks on HBO. Typical Arum.

Why do people get so heated over a promoter dissing a boxer that isn't his? It is his job as a promoter to make all other boxer look like crap while making his the look like the best in the world.

Arum doesn't box. When it is all said and done it is up to the boxers. Have a bad performance and you'll have people coming out of the wood work calling you a "hype", "glass jaw", "overrated", etc....

In this sport you are only as good as your last performance. That is just part of the business.
