http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/8123121.stm Boxer accused of attempted murder A boxing champion has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder a man in Edinburgh. Commonwealth Games gold medallist Kenny Anderson, 26, appeared in private from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court accused of attacking David Togher. Mr Anderson is alleged to have repeatedly punched Mr Togher on the head, and to have repeatedly struck him with a hammer in Hay Drive on 23 June. He made no plea and was remanded in custody. The case was continued for further examination. Mr Anderson, from Edinburgh, is the reigning Commonwealth Games light heavyweight champion after winning gold at the Melbourne games in 2006. He turned professional following his amateur success. Don't look good for him :-(
What an absolute **** of a guy. Yet he'll still get more fans than the likes of Khan. I hope he doesn't box again.
These days almost every attempted murder charge is dropped to serious assault and if he has no previous he will not get jailed. H e will be released on bail in the next few days imo
exactly.......... probably was with the guy that done it, and the celebrity's name gets chucked in, and we dont yet know what this guy got hit with the hammer for, doubt if a pro boxer would jepordise everythin by lifting a hammer to someone, when his fists are more than capable, unless the guys done somethin to his family or whatever.
Getting beat with a hammer might not be as bad as it sounds. There is no way anything can be known for sure without a thorough investigation and a quick headline tells us nothing. Kenny seems a nice enough fella and im prepared to wait til a proper statement is released before jumping to conclusions. The papers usually talk 99% **** with 1% truth added in
If this is true his license should be suspended or all his future money from boxing goes to a charity of his victims choosing
Yeah althought the fact that he's not made a plea doesn't exactly sound great I agree that a lot of the times in cases like these (And '****' cases) the celebrity name seems to be dished up when in reality they have nothing to do with the incident in the first place. Hope this isn't true, seems a nice lad and I have no reason to believe he'd need to use a hammer when he's a pro boxer.
He hasn't made a plea because he doesn't have to yet. The scottish system is different to ours, the case is now being examined to see if it has to be taken further. I make no presumption about people's guilt or innocence but some people's reactions here are straight out of the Daily Mail!
Ok mate didn't know that about the Scottish legal system but hope you wasn't having a dig at my views there ?
