I know. But he's on the edge, his nutritionist admits that. When you are pushing that edge, it gets dangerous. Sometimes that edge is closer than you think. Despite all this, Pac beats Cotto at 147. I just wanted to know why its happening at 145 when nothing will be different.
It's happening at 145 for obvious reasons which I know you are very aware of. Pac is a natural lightweight while cotto a former junior welter is a natural welter and walks around at 160 to 165. If they fight at 147, cotto will outweight pac by 12-15 lbs during fight time. Somehow, they have to level the playing field and 145 is one remedy.
No I am not aware of anything that will be different. By making Cotto cut to 145 instead of his normal 146/147 isn't going to drastically make him not weigh what he normally weighs. Why mention Cottos walk around weight and not Pacs? Pac weighed 148 for Hatton, clearly he walks around at around 155. Cotto on fight night weighs 158 give or take. By making him cut to 145, he will still weigh 158, he's not going to magically weigh 4-5lbs lighter than normal.
Chances are it's still possible Cotto does that. I mean if Pac rehydrates to say....I dunno 149 or 150 (rough guess), Cotto will probably still be anywhere from 5 to 10 lbs heavier.
There is a difference, if the catch weight is 145 and cotto report at 158 to 160 at fight night, there is a difference not visible to us ordinary human beings but, believe it or not, there is a difference compared to a normal weigh-in of 147. However, he has nutritionist to care of weight rehydration so that his fighting ability will not be affected.
145lbs is lowest they could go where cotto could easily get and wont be drained.... I think 142, cotto will be drained...143, it might have some effect on him...145 safe weight....:good
Cotto will always outweight pac no matter what but team pac wants to limit the weight differential to a manageable level.
So you agree Cotto is going to weigh in at his normal weight BUT the difference is something we can't see? :rofl:rofl:rofl You basically just admitted Cotto at 145 will push his body too far and drain himself slightly.
Yea but 145 is the LOWEST they said. That means he's on the edge of hurting himself. Just because he's on the edge and not off it doesn't mean the edge won't be closer than they expect it to be. Cotto is on the verge of hurting his body and theres a decent chance he will not be 100% come fight time.
You totally missed the point. Weight rehydration should be limited at some percentage to maitain your fighting ability that's what you missed.
You admitted Cotto is going to weigh the same on fight night no matter if its at 145 or 147. What limitation?
