    standard pav/aa thread....no consensus...never will be...but

i understand aa's fans are pissed and think its pav's and arum's fault (arum makes himself an easy target). but there is one sure fire way to determine whether pav and arum are truly ducking aa, and that is for aa to become pav's madatory. everytime this potential path for aa is mentioned, the response is "he shouldnt have to." fair enough, but if aa REALLY wants pav...and i mean REALLY wants pav, then what could pav and arum do if aa did become his mandatory?

i'm sure from pav/arum's perspective, the issue of money is directly tied into this. im sure they are thinking, "why should he be given an opportunity to cash in when he didnt have to work his way up like I did."

i know that pav fan's will probably agree and aa fans will tell me to **** off, but in reality, becoming pav's mandatory is the one fail proof sure fire way to tell if arum and pav are ducking. so if aa and team are really desperate to get pav into the ring...here is a perfect way to do it.

Agree with your post 100%, the only question I have is, Arthur is the 2nd best middlweight presently, why not make the fight happens and see who the best at middlweight is?

He would have to negotiate that with the WBO or WBC that he relinquishs his title for an immediate mandatory position in their rankings. If he cannot do that, it would be totally bullshitish to do that to "perhaps" get, someday, you never know, it really could happen, a mandatory position granted. If they don't find 15 other cab drivers to move into mandatory status past him for the upcoming 10 years. I mean, it's THE Kelly Pavlik, you can't ask to become his mandatory for nothing, just because you beat up everyone else, and the other 10 guys before you in the rankings couldn't win a fight with you with a gun.

    This is the ratings:
    1 Sebastian Zbik (Int-Cont) GER
    2 Khoren Gevor ARM
    3 Dmitry Pirog (Asia-Pacific) RUS
    4 Gennady Golovkin KAZ
    5 Aaron Mitchell (NABO) USA
    6 Sebastian Sylvester GER
    7 Anthony Mundine AUST
    8 Paul Smith GB
    9 John Duddy IRE
    10 Sergio Mora USA

Let me guess who of that 10 fighters become the next 3 mandatories ... drum roll ... John Duddy ! .... Sergio Mora ! .... and finalllllyyyy ... Aaron Mitchell ! Yeah. Why take one of the other 5 tougher guys on the first 6 positions ? Youngston wants to see americans fighting americans (or someone with irish following in the US), not cheesy euros who could possibly win some rounds.

Your proposal makes perfect sense. I've said this myself.

I agree with K-Man that AA should not just drop his title willy nilly. The traditional path to a WBC title shot goes through the NABF title. If you win that title, you are almost guaranteed an eliminator. The current NABF titlist is Roman Karmazin. Roman wants a fight with AA. The door is open. All Sauerland would have to do is negotiate a fight with Karmazin in Berlin. Arthur would win, and become Kelly's mandatory.

Abraham would make just as much fighting Karmazin in Berlin as he makes fighting guys like Ayala, Simon, and Oral.

Arthur would make more as Pavlik's mandatory in a fight on HBO than he currently makes. He averages about $600,000 per fight. If he fought Kelly on HBO as the mando, he'd probably make about what KP made for Taylor; $750,000.

The door is open, but sauerland has shown no desire to walk through it with his fighter. Instead, he acts like his man is The Champ and the draw. Abraham is neither.

    :good

In short, because he's a risk. Pavlik is Arum's cashcow and putting him in there with someone like AA is a huge risk for relatively low reward. This fight will never happen now, IMO. Which is a huge shame. Boxing politics- that's what it comes down to.

Abraham is after Wlad, arguably the biggest draw, as far as a boxer is concerned in Germany.

Strong words. But I agree, Abraham-Pavlik just needs to be made. It will reflect badly on boxing if its not. Abraham wants the fight, I'm pretty sure Pavlik would take it, so why is it not happening?

    Boxing needs a middleweight champion.

Uh -- let's see; Abraham went the distance with Shannon Taylor one fight after Raymond ****ing Joval knocked Taylor out, and made voluntary defenses against Ayala, Simon, and Oral.

KP ruined Zertuche in his first title elimnator, and then beat the brakes off Miranda in his second title elminator. In his next two fights he demolished the man who dethroned ATG Bhop, and then scored a UD over that man.

    Boxing has a middleweight champion.

Everybody agrees with you, we all want it. What Dbouz was saying, for those insisting Arum and Pavlik are ducking, is it could be proved beyond doubt if AA simply fought Karmazin in a WBC eliminator (1 ****in fight), and become Pavlik's rightful mandatory. If Pavlik and Co. do NOT take that fight, hell and it's minions couldn't fight of the fact that Pavlik would be PROVEN scared.
