Some of the garbage I've read on this thread makes me cringe. It's so apparent that many posters are either 'fake' fans with absolutely zero knowledge of boxing, but think it's 'cool' to stick with the 'safe' theory that RD was some sort of God, (and in so doing retain 'cred' with fellow ESB posters,) or the other alternative, that the posters are merely daft old timers looking through rose-tinted spectacles at their heroes of yesteryear, living in a nostalgic twilight zone in their rapidly diminishing world of living idols. Which category do YOU fall into???!!!

Well Lionel, you asked for some rationale and I provided it. Rather than answer any of the points, you banged on about a couple of theories of your own as to why he is acknowledged by the boxing world as an alltime top ten. There's a dude on here name of Redrooster who takes the same attitude to Leonard as you apparently have to Duran. And his posts garner the same esteem. So I guess you'll move on from your own thread, still wrapped in your own boxing brilliance. But it does NOT apply to Duran (it usually applies to fans of HWs from earlier eras for varied reasons).
