1st - Manny Pacquiao Joint 1st - Juan Manuel Marquez 3rd - Bernard Hopkins 4th - Shane Mosley 5th - Israel Vasquez 6th - Wladimir Klitschko 7th - Rafael Marquez 8th - Paul Williams 9th - Vic Darchinyan 10th - Miguel Cotto The next best - Tomasz Adamek, Nonito Donaire, Ivan Calderon, Chad Dawson. Floyd Mayweather will become eligible for ranking once he becomes active again by fighting. :bbb
As soon as he's active, I will. You can't have him ranked when he hasn't fought since December 2007 and has only recently cancelled his retirement. Of course he is an elite fighter, he'll be back in there legitimately soon enough.
if Floyd wins a UD against Marquez, where would you put him? joint 1st? or 2nd.... has to be 2nd for my money, unless the win is spectacular....
floyd shouldn't even be there if he beats marquez. how does fighting a guy smaller than u rank u in p4p. he should fight an elite welter. he should fight shane
2nd or joint 1st, not worth arguing about as it would only be a temporary ranking, the important thing will then be getting him and Pac in the ring to decide who truly is the number 1.
Joint 1st is such a copout!!!!! Wlad too high for me, HW division just isn't good enough to warrant that top 10 p4p rating IMO. Do you not consider Izzy Vazquez inactive then? His last fight was less then 3 months after PBFs last fight, how inactive do you have to be to drop out the p4p rankings?
To be honest I don't have much respect for Floyd's decision to come back against Marquez when Mosley was available and holding a title in Floyd's division, but if he does beat Marquez he will deserve a degree of credit as Marquez is a superb fighter irrespective of the weight class disadvantage.
My list is quite different from yours. 1. Pac 2. JMM 3. Williams 4. Hopkins 5. Mosley 6. Donaire 7. Darchhiyan 8. Dawson 9. Cotto 10. Wlad Kltischko
Hopkins shouldnt be on the list anymore. Not only because of inactivity but because he announced his retirement.
Izzy never retired though. Izzy's last fight was in early '08. Yes, he is on thin ice at the moment as far as rankings go. Must fight soon. Joint 1st is indeed a cop-out, but I can't choose at the moment. Pac has had the better career over the past few years, but I scored their second fight to Marquez by a point and both have been flawless since. Wladimir has to be in there IMO. He is an extremely dominant champion. His win over Chagaev changed my opinion on him. Chagaev was no bum, he was a world-class heavyweight, and Wlad shut him out. Credit where it's due.
