Mosley and Cotto were closer till the Clottey fight, where Miguel's stock fell a little in p4p terms IMO. I think Miguel won the fight, and I think he will rise again without the hindrance of a cut eye in his next bout, but all in all I just was not impressed or even satisfied with him v Clottey. And when you consider his last 2 fights before that were a brutal defeat to Margarito and a rather meaningless tune-up win against a fighter who was not world-class (Jennings), I find it hard to keep Miguel any higher than 10th right now. He will rise again though, I have faith!!
Yup. All is good though. :good EDIT - I feel he's done enough to be ranked higher than Mosley and Cotto for sure. 4 on my list is properly better now that I think about it.
Without Vasquez and Marquez, my list would look like this: 1st - Manny Pacquiao Joint 1st - Juan Manuel Marquez 3rd - Bernard Hopkins 4th - Shane Mosley 5th - Wladimir Klitschko 6th - Paul Williams 7th - Vic Darchinyan 8th - Miguel Cotto 9th - Tomasz Adamek 10th - Nonito Donaire
1st - Manny Pacquiao 2nd - Juan Manuel Marquez 3rd - Bernard Hopkins 4th - Shane Mosley 5th - Israel Vasquez 6th - Miguel Cotto 7th - Rafael Marquez 8th - Paul Williams 9th - Chad Dawson 10th - Tomaz Adamek
I don't put much stock in Kolle, Phillips or Wright. At least not enough to have him above Hopkins, Mosely or Cotto. I wish PW could get a fight with Clottey or Martinez. Not much for him at 160 with Arum being a *****.
The Wright win was big for Williams. Inactivity or not, no-one has come close to doing that to the current version of Winky, and he has been in with some great fighters.
I dunno two years of inactivity, injuries and a less than stellar record before the inactivity does a lot of hindering for me. Personally I don't think they should be seperated by much if it all (Cotto and Williams).
Yea. I put more value into his wins but that's just me. I think Mosleys stock went down when Cotto's stock went down against Clottey. I think he deserves to be ranked above him at the least. But it's this is all different opinions, he's in the top 10 best fighters in the world today for sure and if he can get a fight with someone at 147 he would definitely be sitting at number 3 clearly. (Assuming he wins)
Definitely. Williams just needs a fight against Mosley or Cotto and he'll really start to break higher into most peoples list.
