Cotto just getting hit way to much and the ref stops it. nothing new, same old Cotto. gonna get hit with uppercuts till the ref stops it. Cotto has alot of heart so the ref will handle it.

And people seem to forget that Pacquiao changed his tactics when fighting. People still think that Pacquiao still fights the same way 5-8 yrs ago. Pacquiao is still very fast and very strong @ 147. I know people will say again that ODLH is old... weight drained... etc. but that wasn't the case before he went in the ring with pacquiao. It just so happens, after the one sided beatdown Pacquiao gave to Oscar, He became old and weight drained. Also, Oscar has way better chin than Cotto. Pacquiao didn't want to finish him off in the early rounds because of respect for ODLH. Even Roach told Pacquiao to finish him off already.

Pac didnt finish De la hoya cuz he couldent!!! he didnt have the power 2 finish Oscar, even oscar said it himself that Manny had no power and he wish Manny did so he couldve finished him off,but im pretty sure Cotto would had enough power 2 finish oscar

I think Miguel Cotto is a better boxer than Manny Pacquiao. He has good balance, throws his punches with great technique. Left hooks, right uppercuts, Miguel can throw every punch in the book with great precision. It is only in the wake of his other flaws that has made boxing fans forget just how talented of a fighter he has been at his best. I don't think he has shown to be ruined physically or mentally by the defeat at the hands of Margarito.

He put Jennings to bed in style, just as he should have done, and Clottey is one of the better fighters st 147lb. He was dominating Margarito up until he broke his hand, and his other defeat against Baldomir was a disqualification loss. Clottey was a worthy challenger to Cotto's thrown, and even despite holding the advantage with Cotto suffering a cut, he still couldn't get the win. Cotto showed a will to win and guts that he failed to show in his only career loss. If anything, that was redemption for him as a prize fighter.

Marquez has had notable success staying in the pocket and countering Pacquiao, but that isn't to say Cotto can not do the same thing. Miguel is physically bigger than Marquez, and I believe, he has better punching power than any previous live opponent Manny has faced. He is a great counter puncher, and negated Mosley's superior handspeed with excellent timing. The difference between Mosley's handspeed and Manny's handspeed is not huge.

It will be a tough fight for Cotto, but I have to give him the benefit of the doubt because I think he is the better boxer and the better puncher in this fight.

I think Cotto is more proven at 147lb, and has beat better opposition at Welterweight than Pacquiao has.

Oscar De La Hoya was clearly having physical issues on the night of the fight, but I am not prepared to get in a debate over it. If you have ever seen him fight before, you will agree with the consensus on this.

Pacquiao did not have the fire power to knock Oscar out with a head shot. No big deal, Oscar has never been all that close to being stopped in his long career unless it was due to a body shot.

^ I agree and yes it will be one hell of a fight man. But guess the similarities between Diaz, Oscar, Hatton and Judah? The answer will be obvious why I think Cotto will lose. It can go either way, but I still believe the answer to my question will be key.

Believe me Pacquiao has the power to put Dela hoya on his back. Just happens Pacquiao didn't because of respect for Oscar. Pacquiao was still careful that night but if he was as aggressive as before, It could have ended earlier. Why do you think Nacho finally decided to stop the fight? Because ODLH was gonna get knocked out. It will be a very sad ending if ODLH retired and his last fight, he was knocked out by a guy who started @ 106.

Cotto gets hit to much when he is fighting a 5'11 Antonio Margarito who could and has fought at 154lb comfortably before.

Cotto gets hit to much when he is fighting a world class operator with one eye, as evidenced in his latest fight with Clottey. He won, regardless.

I think Miguel will get hit in this fight because Manny has great hand speed and is dynamic enough to find openings. However, I think Manny gets hit coming in also, because Miguel has underrated hand speed, and his timing and precision is beautiful. To see it at its best is to see him fight a very good version of Shane Mosley and outbox him for the majority.

Manny Pacquiao landed his fair share of straight left hands in that fight and Oscar was still standing. Everything else is speculation.

Shane Mosley is not the same person back in 2000. He has slowed down A LOT! His hand speed is still there but he has SLOOWWED DOOWWWN. Before the Cotto Mosley fight, I was sure Mosley would take it because he's way faster than cotto and his speed will be the defining factor why he would win but Mosley's speed is gone but his power is still there.

Pacquiao was still careful that night knowing he is fighting oscar regardless of his age, Pacquiao still considered him dangerous. If he didn't it would have been over 5-6 rounds.
