Did you ever make a post about Margo punching Cotto while he was down and should of been deducted a point? Or DQed?
I agree with that. Margo should have had a point deducted IMO, and Cotto should've been given an additional minute or so to recover. I don't think for a second that would have changed the outcome of the fight, Margo would definitely still have won, but in the interests of fairness the referee should not have let that flagrant rule-break go. In answer to the thread question, the greatest losing performance I have ever seen was from Alexis Arguello in his first fight with Aaron Pryor.
Just exposing his clear bias that has in favor of JMM who is mexican. They complain of that there should of been a point deducted which would of still had the officials score a draw, if the one judged score the round properly. Yet when did ANY of them complain of Margarito hitting Cotto while he was down? Never. I had JMM losing the fight (he should of ) and thought he put on a great performance after the 1st round but it wasn't enough.
IMO Pac won the first fight with JMM by 2 points, JMM won the second fight by 1 point. This myth that goes around that Marquez won every round after the first and "schooled" Pacquiao throughout is really bizarre, I can't work it out at all. I am a huge fan of both men, and I just cannot see how anyone could score either fight widely to either man.

I can't see it either. Marquez did not sweet those last 11 rounds. I think people tend to say it because he did win a lot of rounds after that, and people like to go he won all the rounds after the 1st, for whatever reason. I thought it was close but clear victory for Pac. And I had JMM winning the 2nd fight by 1 point as well. I've got a question for you. After the 3rd KD in the first fight. Did it not look like to you that JMM thought the fight was over? And as soon as he heard Cortez counting he looks at him like WTF your counting?! And gets up right away.
Yes. When Marquez slumps back and puts his hands to his head, he thinks it's over. Many refs would've stopped it there. Good job he didn't as it ended up a great fight!
Yup I was about to point that out as well. He had the look with his hands over his face that he was done. Im glad Cortez didn't stop it, we got to see that fight and the 2nd one. Otherwise, people would of just assumed Pac was was above JMM and JMM was a pushover but he clearly is not. :good:good
Cotto/Malinagi made me a fan of both guys. At the time I thought if Paulie had any power he might have won.
Lots of good calls on here. Here are a couple that haven't been mentioned. Arguello/Mancinni: Ray was only 20 years old, and he gave the champ absolute hell for the first 12 rounds. Danny "Little Red" Lopez/Mike Ayala: Mike was Tony Ayala's older brother. This was the 1979 Ring Magazine fight of the year. Mike was so tough Danny had to knock him out twice! The whole thing is on You Tube, and it is a "must see" fight.
