I think the actual film has a tendency to make Jack look a little scrawny and you can't absorb the intensity of it.

Secondly, Willard looks a little soft, but check this photo!

As you can see Dempsey is pretty darn ripped, and Willard looks to carry his weight really well, a strong man. Shame the rope obscures Dempsey's eyes.

Overall I would like to say that I think the Willard win is pretty underrated.

Looking at Willard there I realise that it must have taken some real effort to do away with him. It's not a simple case of every other great punching heavyweight would wax him - what Dempsey did that day was nothing short of special!

Great photo, i agree the willard win is very under rated! demsey was a all time great he is a top 3 all time heavyweight for me, also i rank him number 3 behind stanley ketchel and joe louis as the hardest ever puncher

Some people are suggesting that a lot of great heavyweights would have gone through Willard just as easily as Dempsey did.

Or that they could have gone through Fred Fulton in 23 seconds.

I personaly think that they are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Let sombody from any other era do something similar against a Joe Bugner or Tony Tucker type fighter then I will agree with them.

I love this one. You don't have to know anything about this fight to figure out what's about to happen.

Well, Bruce Seldon, Herbie Hide and John Ruiz all stopped Tucker when he was as old as Willard when the man fought Dempsey. And Tucker's durability was way more proven than Willard's.

    Great photo though, love it.

That could be an effect of missing teeth or his fractured jaw.

Willard, though not in love with the sport, was one tough mother and something of a specimen.
