According to Steve Kim, Showtime will have a tournament involving 6 of the top super middleweights in the world. Names he heard mentioned were Mikkel Kessler, Carl Froch, and Andre Ward. He says it will be announced possibly next week at MSG.

"This will make up the bulk of the rest of their schedule for 09 and beyond. It will be a round robin in the beginning, ending with a final four-type scenario is what I'm told" - Steve Kim.

    Sounds good to me. :bbb

If Bute vs. Andrade II ends up being on the Mayweather-Marquez PPV instead of Showtime, I hope the winner could at least get in the mix afterwards.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that this thing comes off, remember so far this had been the year of the cancellation...

The only wall showtime need to get through is the promoters. Something tells me that Froch and Kessler's promoters will be the stumbling block. But whoever wins the tournament could end up facing either of the two. Which is still great. Hopefully Bika will get involved

Yea this would be great. They need this in all divisions every few years. No more talk let the best man reign.

Even if they left Kessler out. He would seem like the one to demand alot. Not sure about Froch or Bute. Green, Andrade, Ward, Dirrel should be eager to get in there.

This would be brilliant, every division could do with this but SMW is the best suited to it at the moment.

Depends if they did a winner takes all kind of stance. But I don't see any of the top boxers promoters taking the risk on there best assests. So it might end up similar to the prizefighter style kind of tournament
