If Leonard was as good as they say he was...Top 1-3 Lightweight, then he would have outpointed Arquello.
This is all speculation, as there simply isn't sufficient footage on Leonard to really comment on his H2H standing. And don't tell me the footage against Lew Tendler inspires much confidence.
Arguello by K.O. No doubt whatsoever. And please, no one dare start saying 'Arguello is getting overrated cause he's dead' I will not be amused :good
From the footage I've seen I'd favour Leonard taking the early rounds before being taken out later into the bout. I dont think Leonard can avoid getting hit, plus he operates in straight lines which suits Arguello. Leonard wasnt that defensively great and I think Arguello would time some big shots as the pace slows and I dont see it lasting that much longer then
In that spirit, then you can eliminate Harry Greb from all discussions, p4p or head to head...there are some guys who were criminally underfilmed..and we're relying on the testimony and evaluation of reliable (we hope) boxing historians, and it's all basically speculation.
Only in H2H discussion do I refuse to rate Greb. What I said doesn't eliminate him from other discussions at all.
theres abit more than that floating around. i thought it was a brillaint performance also the first few rounds vs McLarnin, Leonard shows real skills explanation? im not letting you off with just that.
great question. i do wish there was more footage of this 1920s phenom but if it came down to it and i was faced with a betting situation I suppose I would have enough faith in the reports and his outstanding record to go with Leonard in a late rounds tko of the great AA
