Why is USTV boycotting Dimitrenko Vs. Chambers?

    It’s all about the money.
    HBO won’t show those fights because it wouldn’t make enough profit for them.


    Every company would do same thing.
    People act like it is they have some obligation, to show every fight even if they won’t make profit out of it.

    If HBO cannot make profit out of Chambers who has been fighting tough competition for years including Brock, Povetkin, Peter and Dimitrenko, I do not see how HBO will do it with Haye who has not fought anyone worthy at +200. I do not see anything interesting in Haye v Barrett, Bonin type of fights.

    HBO is boyoctting the wrong fight. The Dimitrenko v Chambers is one of the best fights at +200 so far. They should stimulate these kind of fights when top contenders face each other. It is profitable in a long term if not in a short one.

    So HBO is not doing it for the profit only. There is another reason why no US TV for this excellent fight.

    not enough profit. Its ****ing cable. People pay for HBO already and the fights are on it. Its not like people are dropping HBO because of the fights. Actually it goes the other way. If they dont start showing fights people want to see they will start to cancel HBO

    The real issue is they have a boxing budget and they gave most of it to GBP. Nothing left for the other fights. DUMB ****ING MOVE HBO!!!!

    I cant wait for Vitali or Wlad to get a fight with Haye and they **** HBO and give it to ESPN

    if you think one person would cancel an HBO description over Eddie Chambers, you're a moron. HBO paid enough to put Marg-Mosley and JMM-Diaz on regular HBO, along with Calzaghe-Hopkins last year. They recognized the market, guy. They've done a solid job for fans last year.
    Man, you need a business course. I don't care if you cook Wlad's **** at night, you need some common sense.

    I didnt say over Chanbers. I said if they dont start showing fights that people want.. I have talked to the lawyers that deal with HBO asswipe. I promise you I am closer to it then you will EVER be.

    Like I said. They have a budget but they committed most of it to GBP... read my post dickhead

    I dont just chef. Im the training camp Manager. I now what the **** im talking about

    well, chef, you seemed to ignore the fights I mentioned. People didn't want to see them? Are you familiar with HBO's ratings this year? They are pretty good, huh? Get over your bruised ego. From a ratings perspective, HBO has had a great year, so your complaints are sour grapes

    I'm a little surprised Showtime passed on this fight because they had no problems showing another undefeated Eastern Euro in Povetkin against Chambers but not another undefeated Eastern Euro in Alexander Dimitrenko.

    Why would they show a fight there's no demand over?

    It's not like people are all that interested in Chambers vs Dimitenko.

    It always amuses me how HBO is "taken to task" for not picking up fights but people ignore the fact that Showtime, ESPN, ESPN 2 and Versus have also ignored this.

    Is it possible nobody cares enough?

    No one in the US cares to watch these "C" level bums competing in the heavyweight division.

    Everyone knows and sees superb large athletes all the time and are quite aware that only the worst athletes are left to compete as heavyweights.

    Hopefully great athletes will return to the heavyweight division someday. But, it has been a barren wasteland since late 2003 and the overall trend has been working against it for almost a decade plus (with a few talented or decent exceptions (Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, & Ibeabuchi) keeping it off life support until 2003). Obviously the talent pool has been **** poor which allowed greats from the prior generation to extend their careers and fight deep into old age (Tyson 39, Lewis 38, Holyfield 46).

    Better question might be why do you like watching these rather mediocre large athletes of 2009 when no one else in the USA even gives half a ****? Do you watch minor league baseball instead of the majors? Do you tune into the WBA instead of the NBA? Do you joyfully await the start of the Arena Football league season while ignoring the National Football League season entirely to bale hay and screw your farm animal friends? Do you choose to only watch the movies rated 0 out of 5 with a thumbs down consensus opinion?

    As if anyone is BOYCOTTING that must see bout between Dimitrenko & Chambers ... lol


    That flight is so low on the radar screen that if it was televised prime time it would only take a newsflash to say corn was on sale for the next hour at 4 for $1 at Albertson's to shut the fifty televisions tuned in and give it a 0 rating.

    HBO admitted after the fact that they way over-payed for Calzaghe-Hopkins.

    It is not the fights they don't show it is the fact that they overpay for the ones they do show leaving little money left for other worthy fights.
