It's common sense, not that that it's found very often anywhere. ESPN2 or Versus wouldn't show it because the production costs going overseas would outweigh any increased ratings, if any at all. Very likely, whatever they are showing, the replay of the hot dog eating contest, would kill this fight in ratings.

HBO? Saturday afternoon, fourth of July. Yea, ratings bonanza.

I agree with you. Easily...it's pretty much impossible to get any sort of gain out of this.

It's not a very marketable fight in the United States and it'll be going up against way too many obstacles to be a marketable fight.

Is USTV a TV network I've never heard of? :huh

I can't believe people are suprised that this fight isn't being aired in the US. Chambers never had a big following in the US. Why would HBO show this? What exactly is the significance of this fight and why would it interest anyone outside of hardcore boxing fans?

Hmm. I don’t think you fully understand TV business.

I ment to say Brewster vs. Wlad instead of Brewster vs. Golota.

Other fights that i listed were entertaining in my mind.
Maybe not greatest ever but still entertaining bouts.

BTW Lyachovick vs. Brewster is right up there with Ruddock vs. Tyson

    What's hard to understand.

HBO has x amount of dollars each year for boxing.

If they go out and give, say 75% of it to GBP, that leaves very little for anything else.

I currently do not subscribe to HBO, and unless they televise a fight I want to see (a heavyweight fight), I won't be subscribing anytime soon.

I agree. They think if they say "the sky is falling" enough times that the masses will buy into it. The fact is there have been many interesting fights at HW in the last few years and Chambers vs. Dimitrenko should be a good one.

If they marketed the fight right it coulde've generated interest. USA vs. former Soviet Ukraine, like the new cold war.

Apparently you have to be a **** talkin' sissy haired Brit for HBO to televise your fights.

If you've seen Dimitrenko vs Derrick Rossy you will understand why USTV is boycotting this fight.

Someone wake me up when this fight is over.

Well I'm having a BBQ with some local friends from the cul de sac and I would've put the fight on for sure. I can't speak for the rest of the country though.

    Think of the marketing angles:

    East vs. West

    Independence Day HW Fireworks

    The New Cold War

    etc, etc.

But hey, let's watch HBO shoot their budgeting load over another Borenard sleepwalking fest...................
