    Great post.

"The ONLY people trying to say it is not a weak era are white, Europeans with a racial agenda in that they feel the need to promote the era as strong to give credit to their countrymen who are now in the top tier."

In the US, great large athletes are watched regularly. No one believes today's heavyweight division has advanced, evolved, or "passed by" the talent in the USA. The greatest athletes are just not boxing.

On ESB, there is also a fair number (certainly not all but a fair number nonetheless) of white Americans that suggest otherwise due to their own racial agenda.

A poll of athletes from a broad spectrum covering the pros and college/universities would support the former viewpoint rather giving any credence to the dementia that this is not a weak era.

This era is undoubtedly an OBVIOUS "miserable farce" that any half-decent athlete (without an agenda) can easily recognize.

The Klitschkos are fair/decent athletes with great size and good conditioning in a sea of absolute mediocrity.

Few athletes note anything even remotely close to special in the Klitschkos. Since they turned pro, I have heard far more ridicule, criticism, and doubt about their abilities from both white and black athletes whenever the subject turns to professional heavyweight boxing.

It is the ESB posting population demographic that results in such regularly inane threads and absurd poll results.

    Sad but true.

It's a weak era for american heavyweights, but not so weak for heavyweights from eastern europe. In general terms it is a bad era, I don't know how the division would subsist without the Klitschkos.

The only people trying to say era sucks and is horrible are Brits& Americans mostly with their agendas which everyone knows, -I have said this before and saying it again.:yep

Era is ****ing awful, get the **** out with that exxagerating that's what your post was all about.

This ERA is average not more not less. decent boxers and two Great boxers or who at least will turn out when it all is said and done, Klitschko Brothers especially Wlad.
You saw ability of Vitali the less talented brother what beating he gave to Lennox Lewis when retiring him for good even lost it for TKO.

About the Racial agendas with European boxing fans, yeah man, goes around comes around.:yep

So any era in which Americans don't dominate is a weak era? Nice little cop out there.

American sports psychology is so brittle that they either prop up excuses (our athletes are going into football.....as if other countries also had no lucractive sports that competed with boxing) or they make it seem like the sport is irrelevent (eg., soccer, volleyball, F1 etc.).

Newsflash: It is a historical fact that Eastern Euros had no access to professional boxing for half a century, due to the Iron Curtain. Also, their amatuer programs were running on absolutly impoverished resources.

Newsflash: What you see and hear on ESPN is biased heavily towards sports in which America is competative. It tends to marginalize sports in which America is not competative. This kind of reporting tends to create an assumption that Americans are superior in every relevant sport. Excuses, like the weak era bit, emenate from this assumption. Nationalists and media panderers like Atlas and co. are only too happy to go along with this romantic, self-serving nostalgia.

You guys seem to be ignoring my point of how 4 belts make the division look weaker. You keep talking about how weak the division is because of champions being so poor (Valuev getting a gift over Holyfield, Chagaev going the distance with Skelton, washed up Briggs winning the WBO belt, fat Sam Peter being champ etc.)

The thing is, if there was only one HW champion, like during most of the Ali, Frazier, Foreman era, these would just have been contenders. It´s not really fair to compare the fact that Ali, Frazier and Foreman were champions in the golden era to the fact that Ruiz, Peter, Liakhovich were champs in this era. That makes this era looks so much worse than it is.

I would just go by the top boxers in each era. The Klitschkos are the top fighters now, where Ali, Frazier, Foreman were the top fighters then and Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield and Bowe were the top fighters in the nineties. These were both stronger eras than the current one, but it´s a fairer comparison.

Every era of boxing is weak during that era.
Die, sports writers and the mindless empty vessels that take every word they say to heart.

It's a weak era. You have two guys at the top, and David Haye.

That's the entire division in a nutshell.

There is very little quality, and no depth whatsoever.
