Why do so many underrate pac's win over hatton?

looked like the same ricky to me. both share the same birthdate, the same grab and hold technique one was 26 and the other was 30. same age as pacquiao. the only thing they didn't share was the BS referee, the homecourt advantage and that Pac wasn't a little past prime unlike KT.

Good win by Hatton, an even more memoriable loss from Pacquiao though.

 

this is the problem everytime pac ended his fight early or dominated it.

 

Everyone now knows that Pac fights his opponents either at a contracted weight/catch weight, a fighter who has been in many wars, or a "past it" guy. The jig is up with true fans.

 

He took Hatton out in devastating fashion in Hatton's own weight class nothing to underrate here that's the way i see it.

 

It was the best overall performance of Pac's career, and one of the shortest annihilations on the elite level of the past decade. Hatton, the true ruler of a high division for Pac, also a top10 P4P-er was flattened in stunning fashion.

Really a top quality, super-impressive elite victory, nothing like drained Oscar or crowned-by-politics David Diaz. Anyone not giving proper credit should log out and never come back.

In all honesty, this is probably the first time I've seen it mentioned that Pacman's victory over Hatton is underrated. He gets pleanty of credit, don't worry about that. He also deserves every bit of that credit as he stuck to the perfect gameplan and made Hatton taste the canvass 3 times in two rounds.

 

if its underrated it was because it he did it with too much ease. Had he struggled a bit in the early rounds and then ko'd him in the tenth like what Marquez did to Diaz then he might have gotten a bit more.

Does it make sense? Nope. That's just how it is I suppose.

 

Underrate?! wtf are you talking about seriously, after that win people are now putting Pacquiao in the top 30 and top 20 ATG list, this win is getting too ****ing overrated.
Hatton was always overrated and would always lose against top prime fighters.

 

How many of his opponents fought him at a "contracted/catch weight"? DLH? Who else? Moron.

 

Didn't Hatton himself said he is better than the old Hatton and could beat Floyd Jr had he known Floyd Sr earlier? He is so confident of the win that he said to his fans right in the eyes that they will not leave home disappointed. The Hatton that fought Pac is technically better than the Hatton that fought KT. Hatton tried to bully Pac but Pac didn't allow it. KT did.

There are intangibles in the Pac-Hatton fight that were not given credit.

1. Look at how tight Pac hugged Hatton tight to his chest that prevented him from throwing his signature short left or right hook to the body. As soon as Pac releases him, he is like 2 steps away very quick. This resulted to Hatton hitting Pac at the back of the head a lot of times.

2. Look how Pac walked (pushed) Hatton to the center of the ring while locked in together. This is the reason why Pac hardly got trapped at the ropes.

3. Look at how Pac avoided Hattons shots with impressive head movement WHILE giving out a shot! Pac does not avoid throws by Hatton by bending backwards ala Mayweather Jr. He bends down forward instead and does a quick one step allowing himself to get into position for a quick counter.

 

I don't think there has ever been a day when Hatton is competitive with the Manny that showed up for that fight. Hatton wasn't at his best, but he wasn't that far from it. He just got blasted out of there by a far superior fighter, simple as that.

its not hard to under rate a win over a guy who was nearly stopped by juan lazcano
