I mean Marquez has argurebly beaten Pacquiao twice he definitley won that second fight, And Marquez has been looking awesome since his move to lightweight. This is no mismatch no matter how great Floyd is Marquez has the skills to hang in there with anyone.

Marquez is a natural featherweight. While Pacquiao has moved up successfully in weight and in an amazing fashion. Got the point?

    Marquez is a lightweight.

    Mayweather is a welterweight.

It's possible that Marquez will carry the extra weight well and if he does then yes, it definitely isn't a mismatch. But the thing is, no one knows if he will and if he doesn't, then this would probably be an easy fight for Floyd.

The fact remains that the odds are stacked against Marquez, he's older, slower and going against arguably the most skilled active boxer today. So even without the weight, he's already an underdog. Much more so with the weight problem.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Marquez fan and I would love for the fight to be competitive, but based on what we know right now the fight just doesn't seem right.

Marquez might well have at least one victory over Pacquiao, but Pacquiao would certainly have a better chance of beating Mayweather than Marquez.

I stopped reading after this. The first fight between JMM and Pacquiao, The Judge admitted that he made a mistake on the scorecard in round 1. Instead of giving Pacquiao 10-6 because of 3 knockdowns, he gave 10-7. If it wasn't for that error Pacquiao would have won by split decision. The second fight was as close as it could get but Marquez couldn't seem to get both of his feet together on the canvas. Yeah he wobbled Pacquiao in Rd. 2 but Pacquiao got him so many times. JMM won more rounds but because of the Knockdown, he lost. Stop insisting Pacquiao lost to Marquez twice because clearly Pacquiao won BOTH FIGHTS.

PAC has the speed and power to threaten Floyd. Marquez is basically a smaller version of Mayweather - bigger is always better.

You are 100% correct. Marquez is a harder fight for PBF than Pacman. People also forget that PBF was a Super Featherweight/Junior Lightweight. Marquez is a better fighter than Pacman. When PBF detractors get on their bandwagon they are merely expressing their hatred for him as any sincere and honest appraisal shows that he jhas consistently beaten the best fighters of his era. What takes the biscuit is claims that PBF is avoiding Mosley who avoided him like the plague when he was Lightweight world champion.

All this Marquez is the smaller guy stuff, is just stupid. and is an excuses becasue people don't like that Mayweather is the best fighter of this generation. If Marquez is too small for mayweather, than most of the Klitschkos' wins shouldn't count count becasue they tower over most of there opponents. All of the heavyweights who beat Holyfield (Bowe, Lewis) should be bashed for fighting Holyfield becasue he was a blown up cruiser. But thats not the way it works. If marquez loses, its becasue he got beaten by an exceptional fighter, not becasue he is too small. He agreed to fight mayweather which means he doesn't think its an issue.

    That is half of it.

Pac is fighting a naturally larger opponent.
Floyd is fighting a naturally smaller opponent.

So, technically, Marquez may be better, but the real question is, who is taking on the bigger challenge? No?
