In the two fights, I had Pacquiao for the first and Marquez for the second. And since the last time they fought one another, I think Pacquiao has improved tremendously, and is most definately not the same fighter that Marquez battled with. As amazing as Marquez is, and as impressive as his last two victories were, I think Marquez is an easier opponent for Floyd.

Marquez is the more technically gifted fighter. But Pac is an athletic specimen as to why he's been able to move up so well. At the higher weights Pac is better.

Thanks for pointing this out. I´m so sick of people saying like Floyd is a WW, fighting a featherweight b.s.
What you have is 2 guys who´s original weightclasses were only 4 pounds apart, and now you have a smallish welter taking on the lightweight champion of the world.

Yes, there is somewhat of a size difference to Floyd´s advantage, but it wouldn´t be the first time a great smaller fighter beat a great bigger fighter, and the size difference isn´t that great imo.
What about Leonard/Duran or de la Hoya/Mosley?

Whats Pacquiao proved at Welter? Beating up old, shot and weight drained Oscar? Or Koing 1 dimensional, Fragile chin i keep my hands low Hatton? at 140 Both fighters styles were tailor made for Pac If he fights Floyd it will be like the Marquez fights except Floyd wins easier and possibley by KO.Marquez gave Pacquiao hell in there second fight and that was just over a year ago since Pacquiao hasnt fought anyone with close the skillset of Marquez or Mayweather So its ridiculous the flack Floyd is getting for fighting Marquez If Marquez is a natural featherweight Pacquiao is a natural lightweight and Marquez has also koed every opponent since moving up after Pacquiao.

Floyd won't KO Pacquiao because he is not a risk taker like Marquez. Floyd will be busy riding his bike all night long if he gets in the ring with Pacquiao. I laugh at people who keep saying that Pacquiao only fights boxers who are over the hill, dehydrated, past his prime etc. That wasn't the case before Pacquiao fights those so called "weak" fighters. I remember a lot picked ODLH and Hatton even Diaz to walk all over Pacquiao. After Pacquiao destroys them they all become old overnight. So what will you say when Pacquiao beats Mayweather? He lost because of ring rust? His hands are shot? He was coming off from a 1 1/2 year retirement?

Regardless of Oscar's and Ricky's state when Pac fought them, you can't deny that Pac carries the weight well. He's just as fast, just as sharp and still packs a mean punch. You can't say that for sure with Marquez. Sure he might prove to be really effective between 140 and 147, but based on his last too wins, it doesn't look that way.

He looked incredibly shaky against relatively light punching diaz and casamayor wasn't exactly a walk in a park for him either. Him winning by KO against the 2 is a testament to how great he is but people generally get the impression that he was nearing his limits at lightweight.

And besides, your argument is that Floyd shouldn't get any flack for fighting Marquez because he would have an even easier time against Pac is simply weak. If you believe that, then shouldn't Floyd go after someone like Mosley or Cotto if both Pac and Marquez don't really stand a chance against him? Pac and Marquez may be the same size, but that doesn't change the fact that Floyd picking Marquez will be viewed by many as cherry picking.

But in all jokes aside, Pacquiao should have won the first fight against JMM. If it wasn't for that scoring error, Pacquiao would have won a split decision. The second fight, JMM got knocked down. It was as close as it could get but Pacquiao still won. I mean, I don't see an L on Pacquiao's record when he fought JMM.

So again let me bring up Barrera. Barrera should have won that fight between him and JMM. You know it and it hurts to know that it's true. Since the ref gave JMM enough time to recover and give a point deduction on Barrera and called that knockdown a slip. JMM was clearly down and out if it wasn't for the Referee's stupid decision.

Pac won the first fight IMO and lost the 2nd.

    Both close fights.

Neither fight was a clear victory.

both jmm and floyd are great at what they do, but i think the difference here is one if overrated while the other is underrated. when you have great p4p fighters like these 2, it all really matters which one is better prepared for the night of the fight, not who beat who the night before. clearly, floyd is the taller fighter, but aside from jose luis castillo, zab judah, hatton, and chico corrales, they're the top fighters he's faced that were in their prime. clearly, he lost the first fight with castillo. marquez being the smaller and older i think is still a league higher than any of those fighters. he's probably not as fast, powerful, or flashy as manny, but he's not far behind and he's still abit smarter and knows how to weather a storm like manny's. all of jmm's losses have been controversial, but have probably made him a better fighter. jmm and manny are both leagues higher than hatton, so i think floyd underestimating jmm pretty bad.
