I think your right man we can not jump to conclusions because Gman had headaches before two major fights. I imagine allot of boxers probably have headaches after sparring sessions and some people just have migraines for a whole host of reasons.

A boxer gets 20 seconds if he's knocked out of the ring.....

OK, he may have had headaches right up until the moment he stepped into the ring. There is no evidence that he had headaches before the Benn fight, however, at least non I have envouctered.

I've "read it somewhere" too. On forums and In internet atricles with no primary source. There is almost nothing I can't find on the internet if i look hard enough for it. If it's good enough for you, that's fine, it's certainly NOT good enough for me.

I've read numerous sourced articles in the British proffessional press and none of them mention headaches in the build up to Benn. I've read War, Baby which contains speculation - pure speculation recognised as such by the writer - that Gerald may have had a genetic pre-disposition to recieving such injuries, but inspite of interviews with Gerald's sister and both cornermen and Frank Warren as well as a detailed account of Don King's point of view no mention is made of headaches before the fight.

In short, they are just rumours, totally unfounded by any primary source, versus a total silence from the principles, including family members as regards these rumours.

The Jackson rumours seem stronger, but i've never seen them sourced primarily. Looks, to me, an awful lot like an internet rumour. This doesn't mean that it is not true, it does mean it needs to be weiged differently, form, say, Gerald's sister saying "GERALD HAD HEADACHES AFTER JACKSON II".

    True.

It's still hard for me to change my opinion.

If he had a genetic pre-disposition it's more understandable what happened.

Is that where the lines drawn? I didn't know whether it was through the ropes or off the apron.

On the apron(this situation) the count is 10.

Off the apron the count is 20.

IMO it's irrelevant as I think Benn beat the count fairly easy.

Was it ever proven if McClellan said he wanted to quit after the 6th round or not? His sisters say that they had him saying that on tape, God knows how as they apparently didn't have mics in the corner.

I wasn't agreeing with the loung count thing in his post but with the general bias of the ref towards Benn.

I thought it was proven - i thought it was proven that he had said he wanted to quit? I'll double check tomorrow.

    Indeed they didn't.

I don't knw if they saw more versions of this fgiht(only version I saw was the Showtime version).

But from what I saw when they did go to McClellan's corner(which was just a few times) Ihavenever seen him speak, only time is somewhere early in the fight where he nods his head and says ''yes' to Stan Johnson's instructions. In rest he just stood there with a lost look on his face.

If a boxer is legally knocked outside the ring, the downed boxer will be given twenty (20) seconds to return to the ring, without any aid or assistance from his corner. If the boxer fails to return to the ring unassisted in twenty (20) seconds, the bout will be stopped and he will lose by TKO.

Outside the ropes = outside the ring. Thats why the ropes are there to serve as a visible boundary.

Nigel deserved a 20 second count.
