Fans say that he will fight Povetkin next, but that's not guaranteed because Wladimir seems tired of all these mandatories and politics with the networks, etc, so that means he might drop the IBF belt.

So what's the news on Wlad?

He has an HBO TV date for December 12th. I would assume it would be Povetkin since Povetkin said he is not willing to step aside and wants his title shot.

Where did you read that? :huh

He's fighting Povetkin next in order to keep his titles after so long trying to get them. That is almost a sure thing. :good

    Wlad/ Povetkin next.

Has he EVER said anything to that effect? Why would he? Povetkin is the first reasonably deserving mandatory he's had in a while, why would he make a case out of that fight? "seems tired" => "drop belt". Big leap based on a general impression of yours that has no basis in anything Wlad has said or done.

Mandatories are abused by promoters, no doubt, but Povetkin is as deserving as anybody.

He'll fight Povetkin next. He has absolutely no reason not to.

If anything, Wlad has shown a great desire to keep the belts, and a great willingness to fight the mandatory challengers.
He even told Haye to "get in line", which is sort of like saying, "Hey I've got mandatory challengers who earned shots to fight before you".

THat aside, I thnk Povetkin is a pretty good challnger for Wlad. I don't think he stands a chance, but he's earned his shot as much as anybody.

Povetkin-it won't be in December IMO Rico-that's 6 months in between the Chagaev fight. It'll likely take place in October or November.

I believe that Wlad has to get Povetkin by September, that's the month that I remember getting thrown out there.

Both Klitschkos seem to love their belts I don't see Wlad just giving his up. Povetkin will almost definitely be next for Wlad in late 09. I think Povetkin is facing a style nightmare with Wlad. Despite only 17 pro fights Povetkin has earned his title shot and is probably the highest rated heavyweight not named Klitschko. Povetkin would have a better chance with Vitali because I think Wlad will beat him like a drum.

TRUE. December 12th is the date. No venue or opponent named yet. Not even sure if HBO will get the fight. The date was also booked for RTL

So Wlad is dropping the IBF belt, or he intends on fighting two more times this year?
