It took WALDO a while to come up with that blood sugar excuse after the tests proved he hadn't been drugged. Medically it was the only option left open to him after the tests were destroyed so he stuck with it.

Of course the fact that he 'ran out of gas' as soon as Brewster hit him on the chin means that anyone with a functioning brain knows exactly what happened that night. For the fan-boys it was just something to cling onto - until the next time it happens.

Who has Wlad beaten to lead anyone to believe he has anything for Prime Riddick Bowe?

Prime Bowe isn't Lamon Brewster or Sam Peter and he's a huge/giant step above Corrie "I Train on Donuts" Sanders.

Brewster landed several great shots in the 3rd. Got his ass kicked all over the ring in the 4th.

That loss had nothing to do with chin. Whatever the hell Wlad did wrong, he ran out of energy against a pressure fighter and got stopped. Its happened to the best of them.

Loss has been set right since, Im willing to let 11 fights speak to his improvement. Wlad isn't an ATG heavyweight, but he is in general criminally underrated.

He had plenty of energy until Brewster landed that combination on his chin. WALDO was firing punches right up until that happened, which is why I don't believe the bull**** - he showed no signs of gassing until he got hit. The post fight excuses were bought by the terminally moronic.

I can agree with the post fight excuses being pretty dumb. Mainly because they arent excuses. If Wlad did have a blood sugar problem, its his own damn fault he fought without getting it squared away.

He hit a wall. Brewster still failed to score a clean knockdown with all those bombs. No doubt Wlad was getting rocked, but no doubt any heavyweight in the world dislikes that left hook that Wlad absorbs very much. You can still throw punches and be very tired. Brewster was a rock in that fight, took a licking, kept ticking, and then opened up on a Klitschko that hit a wall, kicked his ass and stopped him.

No question Wlad got kayoed fair and square, but this fight does nothing to prove his chin is glass. In fact, I think it proves it isnt.

Actually, it can be said that it usually DOESN'T happen to the best of them. Which heavyweight champs do you recall running out of ENERGY against a pressure fighter and then got stopped.

Some guys have been caught by a big punch or gotten beaten when they are old but you are suggesting that running out of ENERGY is some regular occurrence that happens to all champs. Can you provide that list? You can do it in more than one post if the list is too long for one.

Klit is hardly underrated on ESB. Maybe he is in the US because most think he is completely limited and average but enjoys a size advantage over nearly all of his comp (which is a bunch of "C" class athletes thanks to the huge success, popularity, pay, and college subsidy leading to the NFL/NBA/MLB). On ESB Klit is overrated to the heavens. But the ESB demographic explains that quite clearly.

A poll of real athletes would give clarity to his obvious limitations.

The only reason he didn't score a clean knockdown was because the referee decided to give WALDO a standing 8 count, which was bull****. If he'd just allowed Brewster to keep throwing there'd have been a legitimate knock-down without a doubt. It's not like it's hard to do, it's happened at least 10 other times in WALDOS career, which proves that his chin is indeed extremely shaky, hence the fact that he still to this day has panic attacks whenever an opponent gets close.

I'd like to see that list too, actually.

:rofl You never watched that fight did you? The commentators were sitting there talking about how exhausted Wladimir was, and how if Brewster landed anything... the fight could be over. Wladimir looked like he had just ran a marathon. Hell... he fell down after the 4th round, and needed the ref to help him stand up back because he was so dead.

Of course he was still punching hard... he is naturally a hard puncher. However if you watch his body language... look at his face... his neck as he is struggling to breathe... his legs which were like rubber... you know that he is finished. Hell, I told everyone in the room that if Brewster made it out of the 4th round, Wlad was going to lose. I could tell that he had nothing left. Brewster himself said DIRECTLY after the fight that Wlad was gasping for air in the 2nd round.

More importantly... that fight doesn't mean a damn thing right now. Wlad has clearly grown from his losses and became a greater fighter. They have only helped to make him better. People going on and on about losses that happened over 5,6, and 11 years ago is just pathetic and proves how great he is now.

Same goes to those that talk about fighters that lose to GOOD competition when they are on the ass end of their career. Yeah, ok.

Off the top of my head... I can recall you Lewis fans using the excuse that Lewis was exhausted due to the "altitude" which is why he was knocked out by Rahman.

I can also recall a certain mega-fight in which George Foreman ran out of energy and was stopped by Ali.

Gassing out is not an uncommon thing in the boxing world. It was very odd the way that Wlad became exhausted as he was just dishing out a beating, much like many he had given before... which is why all of the speculation after the fight.

Also... Wlad didn't pull the blood sugar card later on... as you like to rewrite history and suggest. It was actually the Doctor who received Wlad in the emergency room who stated that Wlad's blood sugar was completely off the charts when he was in the emergency room. He also stated that he initially thought that Wlad had been given some sort of tranquilizer due to the lack of response he could get out of him. Wlad then fell asleep for several hours... and woke up just fine. Clearly a very odd case. All of that coupled with the fact that Manny Steward's assistant's credentials were stolen before Klitschkos team arrived to the arena. Which gave whoever stole those credentials free access to Wlad's dressing room before he or his team were there. You don't find any of that odd?

Certainly, I can see your point, but almost every heavyweight knockout at the top level ends in big punches, and a good chunk are over past their prime opponents.

Rocky Marciano wore out many a great fighter with his relentless attack. George Foreman gassed against Ali and was finished. Jack Johnson wilted to Jess Willard. Brewster beat Wlad, Wlads stamina gave and he was bashed around the ring. If Brewster hadn't been landing some big punches and chasing Wlad around the ring, the fight wouldn't have been stopped.

I would wager strongly that Lennox Lewis doesnt get sparked by Hasim Rahman if he wasnt gassed. Plenty of losses at the elite level have come from wilting exhaustion, several from Sugar Ray Robinson himself. You just have to look objectively enough to see that with in this sport, stamina is never going to be the sole issue, just a major contributing factor.

I hope my point was clear, I really do enjoy the intelligent debate.

BOTH fighters went down at the end of the 4th round, WALDO didn't NEED the ref to help him back up at all, the referee just happened to grab WALDO's glove rather than Brewsters because from memory Brewster had fallen on top of WALDO :patsch

I completely agree that the fight means nothing right now, which is why I still can't believe the Klit-ites are still to this day making bull**** excuses about it. If it means nothing, why shy away from the truth for so long?

It's a part of boxing. Do Lewis fans not still claim that he wasn't prepared for Rahman... or that the McCall fight was stopped too soon? Do Tyson fans not look for excuses? Haven't Bowe fans spent all day making excuses of his beatings at the hands of Golota? It's the nature of the beast.

BTW... I was going by what Wlad said afterwards. He said himself that he didn't think that he could have made it off of the canvas after the 4th round if the Ref hadn't helped him up. He just had nothing in him.
