Tyson, in his prime, was the one of the last Heavyweights who could really fight. The prime Vitali can scrap a bit, but Tyson was too quick and fluid, for the comparitivly upright, stiff and tight Klitchko. The danger for Mike would be the later rounds when he traditionally slowed down, and seemed to lose a bit of focus. If Vitali could finish strong , that would be his chance to take it. But I think Mike could hang in enough to take it by decision.
Sorry dude but i think you are overrating Tyson. If the likes of Mitch green, James Tillis, Tony Tucker and James Smith can go the distance with Mike in his prime i'm pretty sure Vitali can. I also think Vitalis size and lean back defense would frustrate Tyson (which always happened if Mike couldn't blast his oponent out) and Tyson would be getting caught by Vitalis long reach regularly
since when was leaning back with your hands low against a puncher who hits as quick and as hard as tyson a good idea?
those guys were in there simply to survive and spoil, i think it's safe to say vitali won't be doing the same. giving mike plenty more opportunity to land on vitali.
I only wish the Klit brothers had people to fight like Tony Tucker, James Tillis and Mitch Green! They have looked awesome against mediocre competition. I look at it this way...... If I was told I had to get in the ring with either one of the Klitchko brothers or Tyson........I damn well wouldnt want to see Iron Mike at the other end of the ring! Tyson in his prime was quick, elusive and hit from a number of angles.......punches in bunches!
It's a pretty good idea when you are a full 9 inches taller than your opponent who has a short reach. By keeping his hands low he is presenting a target whilst leaving himself in position to throw punches up from the hip to keep his opponent away. Against someone with such a disadvantage in height it would work very well. The worst thing someone of Vitalis Height against someone with the Attributes of Tyson could do is stand up right with a high guard because you will be allowing Tyson to get underneath you
I wouldn't say Tyson by early KO but I reckon he'd put enough pressure on Vitali to stop him around the 9th.
it's a good tactic when you've got the speed and reflex advantage like naseem hamed had over most of his opponents and used something similar. when the speed advantage is with the other fella it's going to be suicide. you're not 100% balanced and you've got an ATG punchers who is lightyears quicker than you aiming for your head. vitali is going down....
Tyson was usually tired or frustrated that far into a fight... sometimes both. If Tyson doesn't take Vitali out in the 1st half of the fight i think it then plays into Vitalis hands
