Well i didn't wanna mention it, but sorry yeah i read that bit, couldn't believe it, right after i met him as well! Saw him the other day and told him that i asked you his name and you got right back to me. Seriously he smiled off that. Madman though, telling me and my mate about some of his old ko's. He told me Joe Lally hit hard but he hit harder.

I never mentioned the Mexico thing to him, ****, i will though.

Haha, it's alright mate, i would nowhere near have made it, that's why it's not a problem, if i was a wasted talent or something then you'd be right, but no i'm just a crazy ass fan! So it's all good.

And the only one to beat him in his prime was Willie Pep! :good From 1942-1926 Manuel Ortiz suffered just one loss.

Basically GP, i only started boxing at age 16 and had my first fight at 17, if i was ever gunna give it a real go, it had to be earlier.

Anyway, on a serious note, i mean it, one of the lads is always game to come and see fights with me, so i will come and see you if you turn pro.

That's right, Willie Pep the Featherweight beat Manuel Ortiz the Bantamweight, in what was referred to as (from first hand accounts) a very complacent performance on Ortiz's part, especially considering how he'd supposedly given Pep a working over in a sparring session previously. So much so that Pep was stated as saying he'd never like to meet Ortiz in the ring. Interesting stuff.
