Yes, he boxed for England a load of times and boxed in the europeans but never won an AbA title, got to the final one year and was beaten by a fella called peter Bennyworth, a good amateur who never turned pro. Another year he got ouypointed by Walter mcGowan who must of been a **** to beat over 3 rounds. I've got one of his amateur fights against the USA. I'll send you it, bit different the amateur game back then, big body and head shots going in. Just like the pros really only 3 rounds.

believe it or not Spencer is a shy kinda guy. I met him in a gym and he just stood in the corner and watched then went and offered me dad tickets. Top guy cant speak highly enough of him.

Hopefully i will get to see Tseepureev before the fight

wish it would be more like that. Seems to have been a decent amatuer

im probably top 10 at my weight in scotland i got to the final of the scottish novice final but was beat convincingly but had stayed up all night drinking pepsi and playing an xbox with my trainer

we are sure we could beat that guy and he went on to win the british open title

Yeah we spoke about how the amateur game changed remember?

By the way your dad beat McGowan in the pros, arguably more than once, and in the one where he won officialy, the crowd were belting out 'you'll never walk alone' as though they were sitting in the spion kop.

Just in case you didn't know!!!!

I was heavily following boxing on all fronts at the time of Scot Harrison being around the top of the featherweight rankings. That featherweight era was one of the best of recent years, from the very best that were around to the world class contenders to the lesser guys, it was stacked.
