I will say this...if vitali beats haye this will be BY FAR the best win he has ever recorded and will gain more respect for him in my book. if Vitali loses, this will be the SECOND cruiserweight vitali has lost too and will look horribly embarrasing for his legacy.

How does that work? If you lose to him it's embarrassing, but if you beat him it's a great win? Those don't add up.

Is it or is it not embarrasing for a 6'8 250lb Champion to have two losses on his resume to two different cruiserweights(granting it happens)?

I predicted Vitali would beat Peter .
I predicted Wlad would beat Chagaev easily in a dreary fight ,my posts will bear this out.
I predict Haye will come to fight and however long it lasts he will put up a more exciting effort and at least TRY to win.Chagaev gave a Tua v Lewis like performance against Wlad and fought to survive imo.I thought he stunk !
Haye will come to fight not survive ,or, if you prefer surivie:lol:

If you think it's a embarrassing for him to lose to a "cruiserweight", then how would it be a great win to beat said cruiserweight? Given that a loss would be embarrassing, wouldn't a win mean little?

If Pavlik lost to Darchinyan, it'd be embarrassing, but wouldn't a win for Pavlik over him consequently mean little?

And Peter was also heavier 12 1/2 pounds heavier for Chambers. Peter can function well enough at 250, but 265 is the point where the extra weight slows him down considerably.

Also, exactly how is Vitali's defense leaky? Certainly Gomez who has plenty of skills and size could not take advantage of it. In fact no man has won a conesus of three rounds vs. Vitali and this includes good boxers like Gomez, Lennox Lewis, Chris Byrd, and Gomez.

There are many ways to have good defense. In Vitali's case he fights tall, moves around, and has great punch anticipation, plus he can counter some.

Question for you SuzieQ. If Vitali blows Haye out, will you give him any creidt? Or will you quickly tear Haye down like a badly hyped movie?

I think Haye will be a tougher fight than Gomez and Peter because he hits harder and is faster and unorthodox....Vitali has looked good but seems slower...Thing is if Vitali lands a solid punch how will Haye hold up. I think both men should train down to be fit and Vitali will need to be in top shape ( he has been huffing come the 7-8th rds of his last 2 fights and is 38 years old. Vitali must train for stamina and Haye should keep his weight down and not look to put on extra weight vs Vitali, just get in shape and fight his fight. There are still question marks about Haye cause he has not been tested at this weight but he is a talent. IMO if Vitali can get in solid shape the fight will end at the end of the 10th rd with Haye going down and RSC

    Russell,

Lt's think about what you said. Vitali fought Peter because at the time Peter had the WBC belt and was ranked #2 in the world. That is why Vitali took that fight.

Gomez was a mandatory. Champions are forced to make too many of them these days.

Vitali became the first man to stop Peter, and the first man to easily out box Gomez.

Vitali does not have to take the Haye fight. He says he wants to fight the best out there that can meet him. Since Povetkin and Chambers have mandatories with Wlad, the best out there for Vitali is Valuev, Haye, or Arreola.

True, the Klitschko are fighting the best...there is no ducking with them...They may fight each other...so much money for them to make...and there has been talk

I don't think that will happen. But it's the biggest appealing fight out there, next would be a Haye fight with one of the Klitschko's.

Haye fans are going to be rudely disillusioned in that they're going to find out that Vitali isn't quite ready for his AARP card yet. Vitali is a nightmare for Haye, and with an avenging attitude being nursed for Hayes many indiscetions, especially that tshirt of a beheaded Wladimir. Haye is going to pay for that..and pissing off the taller, meaner Vitali is going to get the mouthy Brit hurt badly. Vitali may want to torture him for a while..it's a personal thing, a family issue with real bad blood that Haye will pay for dearly.

If you have seen the Vitali Klitschko vs Herbie Hide fight you have seen what will happen to Haye. All it is going to take is one of those slapping left hooks Klitschko throws after his jab and Haye will be wobbly and will get brutally stopped.

I don't buy into all the hype regarding Haye's speed, power etc at Heavyweight. He is going to be fighting a guy about 5 inches and 50 pounds heavier than he is used to. This is not Enzo Maccarinelli or Monte Barrett he will be fighting.

I can't see Haye beating Klitschko I thought the Peter win was a good one it showed Vitali has not slipped if Vitali was to be beaten in his comeback then a fighter like Peter would have exposed him but Vitali dominated him. Haye has only a punchers chance if that.

I'm very unsure on David Haye. Not sold at all on the guy. Seen a lot of him of recently. He foughts like Lennox Lewis but he's a smaller build version. His power might be slightly overrated, but I don't question it being there. He has good reach and speed but his defense is awful. His head-movement is virtually non-existance so I don't get his criticism of heavyweights not moving their heads. His defense is basically completely reflex-based. He has good range and can stick the jab but that's in the cruiserweights. And let's not mention his very dubious chin, but I do believe stamina played some factor in that lost against Thompson. He has a lot to prove and answer.

I'm very torn on which matchup is better. Vlad has been inactive and is getting old but Wlad has the worst chin. Vlad is slower but more composed while Wlad gets panicky and doesn't handle pressure well. Either way, in order for Haye to win he needs to be aggressively smart, and that's not exactly his style. He's a boxer puncher but he's got to force it and be active, that's not exactly his game. I think his chances against Wlad are slightly better because of Wlad's chin and trouble with pressure. I think Vlad is more composed and better mentality, however Haye has a better chance of winning a decision with Vlad. Against Wlad, he has to knock him out.
