This tournament is a wonderful idea - all these promotions banding together like this is what boxing needs desperately. Kudos to all involved.

Now we just need someone to poison Palle......

Kessler never had all the belts.
Bute is not involved in the tournament so far.

Froch will dominate and stop Kessler in the late rounds.

Would prefer a knockout style tournament than a round robin tournament, involving Bute & Andrade + maybe Bika & Balzsay but this is interesting non-the-less.

If Kessler is out aswell as Bute it loses much of it's appeal as Froch is the only belt holder and only one in the top 7.

Of course, certain people here would argue that cows are from Mars because the Youngstown Observer said so.

The negotiations continue between Sauerland Event and Mogens Palle. Sauerland is attempting to take over Kessler's promotional rights from Palle. Currently there is a legal dispute between Kessler and Palle over the Danish fighter's promotional contract. Kessler is disputing the amount of fights that are left on his contract with Palle. Sauerland is trying to buy Palle's options on Kessler, which the promoter claims to be three.

Sauerland Event CEO Chris Meyer confirms to Danish media outlet BT that he met with Palle and Kessler a number of times to make a deal happen. If Sauerland is able to grab Kessler from Palle, that would finalize his appearance in Showtime's much talked about super middleweight tournament that is scheduled to start in October. Meyer will not discuss the details of the tournament but did admit to his talks to pick up Kessler.

"I cannot confirm anything on the tournament itself. But I can confirm that for the last few weeks I have been in Copenhagen to meet with Mikkel Kessler and his team, and also with Bettina Palle and Mogens Palle," Meyer said.

Palle, a man of few words in the last couple of days, confirmed the talks.

"It is true that Chris Meyer from Sauerland has been in Copenhagen four times, and he has also spoken to Mikkel Kessler, Kessler's friend Simon Lundt and his lawyer," Palle said.

Palle told the paper that he and Sauerland are far apart on the money. He says if Sauerland does not improve their offer, he plans to move forward with his legal battle with Kessler.

Kessler is scheduled to fight Andre Ward in November in the first round of the tournament. BT claims that Kessler, even with the Palle lawsuit, will move forward with the scheduled media events that Showtime has planned for the super middleweight tournament. The first press conference is scheduled for July 13 in New York's Madison Square Garden.
