andy would school him! remember lads andy is being put in with brawlers at the moment because hes not great at dealing with them. put him in with a boxer and its a different andy lee!
Sorry lads but the continual soft matchmaking for Paul Hyland bothers me. Hughes was a shite opponent anyway as he's way past his best. This lad looks just as bad. Are they conceding that his career is going nowhere? Looks like it to me. He likes to talk a good game but this will be his 16th fight and he's fought nothing but rubbish so far. Good to see Patrick stepping up though and I think Herrera will be a lot better than some here suspect. Also I think Eddie Hyland -v- ***an is a decent piece of matchmaking. Should be a good contest.
Thanks Mossy, expect Frampton to make rapid progress in the pro ranks this year, he's up there with Sutherland in terms of prospect status.
Got to agree this guy looks **** poor.Hughes is as you said past his best but would have posed some questions for Paul.As for his carreer i think he is just caught in a bad situation at the moment, he should imo be European champ at the minute but Napa lost his title before he could face Paulie like he was supposed to in a fight i am confident Hyland would have won (styles make fights) and the french lad that is the current champion has no interest in facing Paulie. All he can do is keep winning and hope the EBU order Bouziane to defend against him. As to the other two brothers i think both will be involved in good scraps at the end of the month.
Interesting point Paddy, do you think that it's been a conscious decision on Manny's part to put Andy in against these brawlers?
If Andy Lee keeps going in with brawlers I keep feeling that he is 1 punch away from a KO. His defence at times is scary. I like him as a boxer and wish he would do what Klitscho does and work behind his jab more often as Lee has decent power and has got some lovely KOs to his name so far but isn't using his jab as much as he should be. I think he needs to make the step up and fight a top 5 European fighter or a decent American fighter soon enough. Throw him in to see if he sinks or swims time as at the moment it is going a bit stale for me.
If he was EBU champ he would be going somewhere I agree totally. Bouzaine probably doesn't want to fight him either. However, surely the best way for Hyland to lay claim would be to fight a higher calibre of opponent? I'm not asking for him to call out Siderenko here. Just a bit of a step up. While you have a point about him being in a tricky situation you have to look at it this way. If hes going to let other fighters (in this case Napa's loss) dictate his career path then he may forget about it. Also, I don't know if I truly believe that is whats stopping him fighting a better calibre of opponent. I think it may have something to do with him getting beaten by the Puerto Rican over in the states a while back. I don't think they are willing to risk the second loss unless its for a EBU title
Ah shite , its typical that he got the cut when he hadnt enough time to recover why couldnt it of happened when he had a bigger gap :-(
