I wouldn't think it would matter that he lost to two Cruisers considering your thread about how size doesn't mean anything
I noticed that inconsistency with Suzie too and just ignored it. That is a little bit of a double standard. However, I can see his point but in different light. It's embarrassing to the populas and general media/fans/critics because they largely have more preoccupation with size and why the bigger man should win. In this way it hurts his legacy but in reality it would just mean he lost to a great fighter and that size isn't that crucial.
Yeah, Q is one of the best posters here. He seems to have no qualms with Wlad though... maybe he's a younger brother . Me too, but still...
The big question mark is Haye's ability to take a heavyweight punch. For me, that's what this fight hinges on. I can see Vitali taking a few haymakers (pardon that expression) and still be there, but I can't see Haye absorbing many bombs. If Haye can't get past the jab with reasonable success, it's going to be a painful evening I'm afraid.
Funny stuff! Back to boxing. Vitali never lost to a fighter who started out a cruiser. But he did fight two of of them who were champions at Cruiser weight and moved up to heavyweight. They were Orlin Norris and Herbie Hide. The two fights lasted a combined 2 1/2 rounds. I think there is a good chance Vitali will ice Haye early too.
Yeah, I can't see a lot of options for a Haye victory really. Maybe if Vitali's body suddenly lets him down again, but I think you'd need a long fight for that and I don't think it'll be a long fight. If Haye could pull off the Spinks-Holmes gameplan that could be something but that seems a long shot. I just think Vitali is a bad match-up all round. Wlad is not a particularly great match up either! But at least I'd give him more of a chance there. Still, Haye will turn up in top shape and try hard and that would make for a much better fight and effort than some recent challengers. So overall it would be worthwhile for the division.
Definitely. I like Haye's attitude. He's confident, at least outwardly so. It'll be an interesting clash of styles, and potentially a very good fight.
Hide was never a Cruser champ and Norris was shot. Hide also never beat anyone of note himself Haye's already done more than both at HW and Cruser
