I was reliably informed the other day that Vitali went to a normal doctor who prescribed him these drugs for a foot injury. They were not anabolic steroids

Fair enough...I understand what you're saying but would Chris Byrd really would boost Lewis resume up?? We really dont know...Also..I'm not saying that Johnson was a better fight by no means...I guess Lewis and Steward had their reasons for fighting Johnson instead of Byrd.:huh

I do know how it ended - with Vitali pissing blood from every orophis. If the ref had allowed that to contiue, Vitali may have lost sight in that eye and YOU would be singing a very different tune. :deal

If he had rematched and beaten Vitali it would have left the division in a bigger mess that it was when Lewis did call it a day. Also, you don't have to beat a man you have already beaten. You don't like the way Lewis did it?? Tough. :deal It was fair and square and Vitali conducted himself like a **** in the aftermath.

Was Johnson a better opponent, probably not. Would beating Byrd have cemented Lewis legacy - no way. He did that quite nicely when tearing lumps of skin off Vitali's eye.

Perhaps VITLAY should have rematched Byrd, huh?

I dont think it would do anything dramatic but there is a misconception that Lewis cleaned out his division and he didnt.

2 fighters who are continuosly overlooked are Ruiz and Byrd.

    Yes i said it Ruiz:lol:

He beat alot of good fighters and whilst he lost to Jones and Toney he beat Holyfield, Rahman drew with Golota and even beat the great Kirk Johnson:roll:

What im getting at is that after beating Tyson if Lewis had decided to fight on (which he did) he should have fought either Byrd, Wlad or Ruiz as they where the most deserving at that point, not Kirk Johnson who had done **** in the division except hold on for dear life with Ruiz.

I actually think if he wanted a fight to retire on, if he won, then he should have fought Wlad as he was the guy who people thought would be the next great champion after Lewis retired.

And i think both Lewis and Steward knew that Johnson didnt bring anything to the table to trouble them where as Byrd could have been a very awkward night for Lewis.

Yes i think Vitali should of rematched Byrd and then possibly had a 3rd if he had won to make sure the series doesnt end level.

Just like i think Lewis should of had a rubber match with Rahman because it ended 1-1.

Sad thing is the old version of Golota wasn't much different as far as 1st round icing goes...

People think because Lewis looked awkward and tired that he was quote "the fattest, shittiest version of Lewis". People forget that Lewis looked the best against smaller fighters. He controlled the distance and pace and effortlessly punished those smaller fighters. Leaned on them in the clinch when they closed the distance and tired them out. Everything he did looked good and effortless. With Vitali he faced a boxer who was bigger than him and one of the most awkward boxers ever. And that's the reason that he didn't look as fluid as in his fights against smaller opponents. Not the best version of Lewis but more or less the Lewis that KOd Tyson.

Exactly but nobody will agree with you.

Lewis has become some sort of God since he has retired.

When you sit ringside it's a whole different story. You see, hear and feel things you can't even imagine on TV. Foreman has been there done that and he knows exactly what he's talking about.

Probably has something to do with the fact that Vitali was winning the fight, and Lennox Lewis slumped so hard into his stool after the 6th round that he almost fell off of it. Lewis didn't have it in him to knock Vitali out. Yet... we have seen time and time again how Vitali looks awkward... even looks like he might be tired... yet he just keeps dishing out a beating until his opponent can't take it any longer.
